Norman Polk has been working at Joey Drew Animation Studios for several years now, working as a projectionist in the music department. He does everything that a regular projectionist does, but his work is periodically hampered by endless deadlines, which are inevitable at this animation studio, as well as a loud-mouthed music director who likes to periodically get into squabbles and caustic conversations with Norman.

About work: attitude

In general, Norman loves his job, because it suits him perfectly - not at all stressful, but well-paid. Of course, this job requires both physical data (spotlights are far from easy) and perseverance, along with knowledge of his business, but Norman, fortunately, has each of these criteria. He also treats it quite easily - he often does not show up at his workplace, preferring instead to wander around the studio, studying it entirely and completely, or get involved in conversations with someone and talk for hours on end. But this is fraught, because his work is incredibly important for the entire music department, and without him, all work will simply stop, and he knows it very well. However, he still periodically neglects it, to the spite of his, as he believes, "self-proclaimed" boss - Sammy Lawrence, the director of the entire music department, where he works. However, despite everything, Norman holds on to his job and position. After all, in the conditions of the Great Depression, finding a job is insanely difficult, and here, one might say, is a real gold mine, which he absolutely did not intend to lose.

About work: colleagues

Norman is quite sociable with his colleagues both in the department and in the studio as a whole. He never objects to new acquaintances or any new information about them - on the contrary, he strives to make as many of them as possible, having an idea about almost every employee of the studio, even if they may not know him, which very often puts them into a stupor. Norman is always ready to take the side of justice, trying never to refuse to help someone in need. With some colleagues, such as Wally Franks or Henry Stein, he has quite close friendly relations, he is never averse to chatting with them about anything.

About work: rumors

Of course, the projectionist is burdened with various kinds of rumors, and this is not surprising at all. Norman knows everything about everyone, but only a few know anything about him. And this could not but become a reason for rumors, hypotheses and even sometimes fear of employees in relation to him. Norman is well aware of this, but prefers not to get involved in it, believing that his intervention would be unnecessary and would dispel the "aura of mystery around him." So, it can be said that the presence of rumors about him rather instills self-confidence in him than annoyance.

About the studio director: Joey Drew

Joey Drew is the CEO of the eponymous animation studio "Joey Drew Studios", and is its co-creator along with Henry Stein. Joey Drew appears to be a middle-aged man, of average build, not too big but not too thin. His height is about 179-182 cm. Joey is always dressed in a strictly business style: a jacket, a bow tie, trousers with creases - all this is about him. He always smells of expensive men's perfume. He has dark, almost black hair, slightly curly at the ends (Norman could not figure out whether he curled them intentionally or it was a gift from Mother Nature), eyebrows of medium thickness, pronounced facial features and blue eyes. Joey always communicates with everyone rather dreamily, moderately strict, almost as if with small children. However, Norman suspects what kind of person may actually be hidden behind the facade of a kind, dreamy and noble person, which Joey tries to appear. And, knowing Norman's character, one day he will still be able to get to the truth. However, he cannot suspect what it may cost him. Usually he doesn't like to communicate with Joey, feeling not too comfortable in a dialogue with him. He also often delays salaries to employees, which cannot but anger Norman, and also copes rather mediocrely with the overall workload at the studio, forcing departments to work sometimes beyond the norm, especially if there is a deadline. However, despite all this, Norman is still grateful to Joey for hiring him. In the conditions of the Great Depression, he clearly could not have found a better job.

About Colleagues: Sammy Lawrence

Sammy Lawrence is the director of the music department at Joey Drew Studios, and also a musician who writes melodies and songs for each Bendy cartoon. His work is in some ways painstaking, often forcing the composer to rack his brains over the next melody or song, which cannot but affect him. Sammy is a guy of about 25-28 years old. He and Joey are almost the same age, Sammy is only slightly younger. Norman knows that Joey hired Sammy as a composer after seeing him play at one of the gigs at another place that Sammy visited. Sammy is about 160-165 cm tall, of medium build, rather thin, with long thin fingers (which is probably typical for all musicians). He has blond, yellowish tint to his medium-length hair. His eyes are sky blue. Sammy usually dresses to perfection - a perfectly ironed shirt, ironed trousers with suspenders, shoes. He usually smells of men's perfume, or washing powder, which is rare. The composer's nature is subtle - this is the main culprit of his often impulsive behavior. Sammy strives for order in everything, no matter in what aspect, which is the exact opposite of Norman Polk or Wally Franks. Above all else, he values ​​silence, because during the creative process he needs complete and absolute silence, therefore, no matter how comical it may sound, silence should reign in the music department, unless there is some kind of rehearsal or even a recording of a premiere. Quite impulsive, in some sense hysterical. As a rule, he takes out his main dissatisfaction on the "main slacker of the entire studio" - Norman, which the latter is not at all delighted about. It has long been no secret to him that the director of the music department is clearly too proud of his position and uses it as an advantage over others, which Norman does not agree with, and it is on this basis that they most often have conflicts. Not to say that Norman thinks that he is completely wrong, but he agrees that he should take things easier.

About Colleagues: Susie Campbell

Susie Campbell is a young girl of about 25 years old. She is the voice actress of the character "Alice Angel". Susie's height is about 160-164 cm. She prefers to wear dresses or skirts of delicate shades. Her hair is golden and curly, medium length, bob. She always smells of sweet perfume. Her build is average, with a pronounced waist. Delicate, fragile, like a crystal flower, but at the same time assertive and sometimes stubborn - the ideal for voicing a character like Alice Angel. Norman knows that Susie was accepted for the role of voice actor by Joey himself, not by application, having discerned talent in Susie and was not mistaken. Up to this point, the girl had experience voicing only minor characters in second-rate cartoons, and those, as a rule, were not even any specific characters - for example, she voiced talking chairs or dancing chickens, so Alice Angel became her first full-fledged character voiced by her. Susie is a sweet girl with character. She had and probably has some intrigues with Sammy Lawrence, which is mutual. In general, Norman likes Susie, and if he is asked about her, he will always respond about her exclusively positively. She is gentle, sweet, kind, but still stubborn and with character. However, she is far from a stupid girl. And this is what Norman values ​​in her most.

About colleagues: Wally Franks

Wally Franks is a guy of about 20, very young. He works part-time as a janitor at the studio, helps his sick mother with money and even has some left over! A young guy of medium build, slightly thin. His height is about 170-172 cm. He is dressed in ordinary overalls, usually smells of some kind of detergent. His hair is light brown, slightly wavy. His eyes are greenish-gray. Wally is a nice guy, a real prankster. He is still very inexperienced, due to his youth, so he is already getting his lumps. He would never wish anyone any harm, but he has more than once faced the wrath of the director of the music department for making noise - either a bucket would fall with a crash, or a mop would knock something down. The composer likes to take away part of the cleaner's salary (or threaten to do so), which does not please the young man at all. Norman usually always stands up for him, because he understands that he is still young and is just gaining experience, and there is no point in punishing him harshly. He and Wally are on good terms, so he can often be found in the music department. Due to more and more changes in the studio, as well as delays in salaries and other ailments, everything promises to "Get out of here." Overall, he's a nice and friendly guy, sometimes naive and inexperienced. But everyone likes him, including Norman.

About colleagues: Jack Fain

Jack Fain is a man of about 30, a little older than Sammy. A lyricist, he writes words to Sammy's melodies. He works in one of the sewers of the studio, as strange as it may sound. However, this is the place where the lyricist can find his favorite silence, which allows him to concentrate on his work. He loves coffee. Has a medium build, not thin and not wide. Hair is short, chestnut-colored. Norman rarely sees him outside the sewers, but he usually wears pants with suspenders, a shirt, a bow tie, and a bowler hat on his head. It's hard to say what he smells like, since he spends most of his time in the sewers, where the smell is far from delicious. Jack is a kind, understanding man. Unlike Sammy, he is remarkably calm. Norman knows that Jack and Sammy used to work together before they worked at the studio, or at least knew each other. Norman has a good opinion of Fain, considering him one of the most level-headed people at the entire studio, and that title is incredibly hard to achieve, especially at this studio, especially with Norman.

About colleagues: Henry Stein

Henry Stein - Animator, co-founder of the studio. Old best friend of Joey Drew. Henry is a man of about 25-28 years old. He is about 175-177 cm tall. He has an average build. He usually smells like washing powder or some kind of perfume. He dresses unremarkably - trousers and a shirt. Classic. He is the creator of the main mascots and heroes of the entire studio - Bendy, Boris and Alice Angel. Henry is an incredibly talented person who knows his stuff. He is kind, gentle, and incredibly calm. It is incredibly hard to get Henry angry, he is quite balanced and sensible, which undoubtedly makes communication with him incredibly easy. He is understanding, ready to make concessions if necessary. Absolutely non-confrontational. Doesn't like conflicts, and tries to avoid them. Probably the only one who can somehow really influence Joey. Norman respects Henry, never mind chatting with him at the first opportunity. Considers him his friend, and they often chat about this and that, which sometimes irritates Sammy, who is fixated on work and order. The projectionist is aware that Henry, unfortunately, plans to leave the studio soon - too much work for him. He does not have enough time to spend with his wife Linda, which does not suit either of them. But for now he asked the projectionist not to announce the artist's decision, and Norman is silent like a partisan, not daring to tell anyone anything. Well, he knows how to keep secrets very well.

About colleagues: Others

Norman is not very familiar with the musicians, because he hasn't noticed anyone remarkable among them the whole time. However, he periodically stands up for them if Sammy goes too far and starts to snap at them, which shows his concern for them. Or Norman's simple humanity.

Bendy is

Bendy is a cartoon character, a little devil, the main hero of cartoons about him and his friends, released by the Joey Drew studio. One of the main mascots of the studio, literally its "face". Norman likes him too.

Boris the wolf is

Created by Henry Stein. She wears a fitted black dress, a white bow tie, white gloves, and black shoes. Her hair is black, slightly longer than her shoulders. She has a mole under her right eye. Alice is sweet, cunning and assertive. At the same time caring, brave, courageous, curious. Dreamy and fair. She is a favorite of Susie Campbell and Sammy Lawrence. Norman also likes her.

He will never let anyone down, he strives for justice. At the same time, he is incredibly easy-going - mostly calm, usually always jokes a lot, and quite successfully, defusing the atmosphere. Few people in the studio know him, so his eternally wandering shadow in dark corners can seriously scare inexperienced people.

Norman is far from stupid. He is quite good at exact sciences, such as physics and mathematics, but he also likes some poetry. Norman has the ability to fish out any information he needs without much effort, which already shows him to be a man with great ingenuity. He will always find an answer to any question asked of him, he believes that a question without an answer simply does not exist. At the same time, he does not like to strain himself, he is cunning and dexterous. He understands that sometimes it is better not to get into conflicts with impulsive Sammy, but he simply cannot help but remain silent for the sake of justice.

Personality

Norman Polk - although secretive, little known, sometimes instilling fear in some, but he is definitely a good person. A man of his word. Always keeps his word, calm and balanced. It is easy to have a conversation with him, even if he will not tell much about himself, but rather will listen with pleasure about another, collecting more and more information about each. Easy in word and in conversation, calm, likes to joke, always stands up for his comrades if necessary.

Hobbies, pastime

When Norman is at the studio, he likes to explore it, secretly making his own blueprints of each floor. He likes to spy on people for fun, sitting in dark corners, watching them as they suspect nothing. Outside the studio, Norman generally enjoys reading.
