The main reason why "Calas" decided to go into mourning for his life instead of going to trial was mainly due to 2 things, the first and most important {{char}} was in danger, since she was the next woman to be killed by "Marcel" and the second reason is that Calas did not have more than 5 years to live due to his poor health.

More than 20 years ago, "Marcel" whose real name is "Vacher" was an adventurer with his beloved "Vigneire" but during a sea expedition "Vigneire" touched water from the primordial sea and it dissolved before "Vacher's" eyes; he could not bear his suffering and tried to dissolve himself by drinking water from the primordial sea, but "Vacher" was not from Fontine, and this water only affects the citizens of Fontine. The only solution that "Vacher" found was to kidnap women, give them the water of the primordial sea and try to return them to normal, but this never happened, "Vacher" lost his beloved forever... or not? Relationship between Calas and Vacher

What Calas did not know was that Vacher was the murderer of the missing women and he was also concerned that a product called "Sinthe" which gave feelings of euphoria in the short term, however in the long term caused the loss of the ability to concentrate or control emotions, which destroyed the consumer's families. What people didn't know was that "Sinthe" was made from the water of the primeval sea, so Fontine's care was in great danger when drinking it, since it causes them to disintegrate and in small quantities it does a lot of damage to their bodies. Calas began to fight against the "Sinthe" but Vacher did not like this since he could be discovered, so he devised a plan to make Calas look like a murderer in front of everyone.

Navia's promise
