Description.

Princess Daisy is a recurring character in the Super Mario video game series. She is the princess and ruler of Sarasaland, which is made up of four kingdoms: Chai (where Daisy's castle is located), Birabuto, Easton, and Muda. Her first appearance was in Super Mario Land, where she was kidnapped by the monster Tatanga and saved by Mario. Ten years after the release of Super Mario Land, Daisy began appearing in more and more Mario games, often as a playable character. Like other major characters, Daisy has a baby version of the same form, which has appeared in later titles as a playable character. Daisy was not created by Shigeru Miyamoto, but by his mentor Gunpei Yokoi. Yokoi passed away eight years after Daisy's first appearance, and three years before she appeared as a major character in another Mario game. It is possible that Daisy's re-appearance in Mario games is a tribute to Yokoi's passing. Daisy has appeared in over thirty games to date, and continues to do so regularly. Daisy is known for her special abilities that often deal with flowers (daisies). She is Princess Peach's best friend and her positive counterpart and teammate, and in many games it is mentioned that Luigi has a crush on her and vice versa.

Appearance.

Daisy has dark blue pupils in her eyes, a long, orange, one-piece dress, orange heels, and large daisy-shaped earrings, along with a heart-shaped one on her chest, the daisy-shaped earrings being white on the petals and light blue in the center. Daisy has fair skin, a slightly darker shade than Peach, and is quite slim. Details on her dress include puffed sleeves with white petal-shaped slits, a white petal-shaped collar, orange saddlebags on her waist, and orange ruffles on the slit of her dress. Her accessories include short, white gloves with petal-shaped slits, orange heels, a golden crown with two red jewels on the sides, flower-shaped earrings, and a daisy-shaped brooch, just like her earrings; her jewelry is coordinated with green gems and white petal-shaped rims. In NES Open Tournament Golf, she wears a summer dress similar to her usual dress, although shorter, yellow ballet flats, and was missing a crown. Daisy wears a dress similar to the one she wore in NES Open Tournament Golf, where the primary colors are amber yellow and the polka dots and linings are white. Additionally, she wore orange shoes with white high socks to suitably fit the sporty theme. She also had an alternate color scheme in Short Game mode, where her dress was lavender and indigo, while the shoes were also indigo.

Appearance. (2)

When the Super Mario sports installments for the GameCube came out, her current sports attire also began to make its first appearance. Daisy's main sports attire is a two-piece uniform, which was first introduced in Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour. It includes a yellow sleeveless top with its flower brooch, orange shorts, and tennis shoes with mid-height white socks. Daisy appears in this outfit more often than any other outfit, including her regular dress. She also has a sports minidress, which was first introduced in Mario Hoops 3-on-3. It is a short yellow dress with two orange ruffles at the bottom that resemble the ruffles on her regular dress. This outfit was first an unlockable alternative to her two-piece sports uniform, and was later used as her main sports attire in Mario Tennis Open and Mario Golf: World Tour. In Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, he wears a new outfit similar to his usual sports attire; the top now has white detailing on the sides and slightly exposes his midriff, while the shorts are slightly darker and longer and come with yellow linings on the sides. This outfit receives some minor additions depending on the sport, such as a brown harness belt in the sport climbing and archery events, or burnt orange knee-high socks in football and rugby sevens.

Appearance. (3)

In Super Mario Strikers, Daisy wears a two-piece soccer uniform that exposes her midriff. Both the shirt and shorts are orange with emerald green linings on the sides. Also included are emerald green high-top sneakers with orange high-top socks. In Mario Strikers Charged, she wears the same uniform, but with overlapping armor pieces due to the intensity of the game. It is available in two colors: The first is orange while the alternate is emerald green. Daisy's soccer number can be found on the back of her chest plate. Daisy appears in this outfit for her trophy in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. In Mario Strikers: Battle League, her soccer uniform no longer exposes her midriff and now consists of a soccer shirt and shorts that can now be worn with or without armor. In Mario Kart Wii and Mario Kart 8/Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Daisy wears a special biker outfit when she rides motorcycles instead of karts, and also all-terrain vehicles in the latter two titles. Daisy's jumpsuit is white with yellow as a secondary color. It includes a yellow scarf and a yellow heart graphic on the back. It features elbow-length yellow gloves with white detailing, similar to Princess Peach's regular gloves, matching knee-high yellow boots with white trim and soles, and a matching belt with a silver buckle. In Mario Kart 8, the white on her jumpsuit is now a yellowish-white color.

Appearance. (4)

In Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games, Daisy wears an outfit more suited to cold weather, consisting of a yellow minidress with long orange sleeves and orange leggings with vertical white stripes on both sides. She also wears white gloves and boots with yellow laces. In Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games and Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, Daisy wears a yellow leotard with orange lining on each side that also functions as a swimsuit; she is seen wearing it for the rhythmic gymnastics and aquatics events in these installments. In Mario Golf: Super Rush, Daisy wears a new outfit that fits more into the golf theme. This outfit consists of a yellow polo shirt, a white skirt with an orange belt, and two flower badges attached to the left center. Her footwear is similar to the one she wore in Mario Tennis Aces, although a pair of spiked cleats are attached to the soles, and she wears orange knee-high socks with a yellow stripe across the top. Daisy's hair appears to have returned to Titian brown, and her skin tone appears tanned. On her main dress, Daisy wears an additional skirt layer that is split down the center and finished with a tatted white ruffle.

Appearance. (5)

In Mario Kart Tour, Daisy is seen in alternate forms. In her Holiday Cheer form, Daisy wears a red coat with white trim and buttons. The build also features a red beret with holly leaves, and has black leggings with white and red booties, in keeping with the London Tour's Christmas-themed look. In her fairy form, Daisy wears a yellow floral dress with green leaf strips, a green leaf belt with pink and white flowers, a daisy crown, and yellow butterfly wings similar to common depictions of fairies. In her yukata form, the yukata is orange with white stripes and scale designs, a blue sash, and a Cheep-Cheep mask. In her swimsuit form, Daisy wears a yellow and orange swimsuit, with ruffles resembling flower petals and orange shorts underneath, a thin yellow and orange striped hair bow, and matching flip-flops, with buckles resembling her flower brooch. In her Farmer form, she wears a yellow-orange long-sleeved shirt with blue overalls, similar to Peach's in Super Mario Odyssey, but instead of wearing a straw hat, she wears a headband similar to the one she wears in her Swimsuit variant but without the stripes. In her Thai Dress form, she wears a green and orange sabai, a golden crown with a round red gem, and silver heels. In her Sailor form, she wears a white and orange sailor shirt and hat with orange shorts and gold buttons, as well as the same orange shoes she usually wears with her sports uniform in the Mario Sports games.

Personality.

Daisy is portrayed as a cheerful, energetic, playful, positive, and brave princess. She is always seen in a very cheerful mood. She enjoys adventures, action, and spending time with her friends. Daisy is quite competitive, so she always puts her best effort into winning. She is always friendly and kind to those she loves. An iconic trait of Daisy is her bravery and rudeness, being prone to provoking her opponents. On one occasion, she sent Bowser flying with a single slap, proving to be reckless in the face of adversity. She greatly enjoys sports, and because of her competitive spirit, she is not afraid to challenge her opponents. Unlike Peach, Daisy is not a princess who would let herself be kidnapped so easily. She has great rudeness and enormous strength, capable of making any man look ridiculous. Daisy also seems to love and know how to treat piranha plants, the same plants that Peach doesn't seem to like very much. Daisy is also portrayed as a tomboy with an outgoing personality and tough demeanor. Daisy is very self-confident and is quite loud. She also has a brash side, often credited for her wit and attitude. Unlike Peach, Daisy is not as proper or poised as she would be based on her royal appearance and status; such as standing with her hands on her hips, exhibiting impetuousness in defeat, and bragging in victory or to get her way. It has been suggested that her choice of colors might reflect her personality, with orange being her favorite. She enjoys shopping and dining at fine restaurants, but gladly passes up those pleasures to train. Daisy has claimed to be clumsy. She fell off the stage while receiving her trophy in Mario Tennis. She needs help after getting lost in the Remix 10 pipe in Super Mario Run and admits to being distracted while waiting for her turn in Fortune Street. Daisy will use her charms and strong temperament to get what she wants.

Personality. (2)

Daisy will use her charms and her hot temper to get what she wants. In Mario Party 3, she flirts with the Millennium Star to get the Beauty Stamp and launches Bowser into the sky when he gets in her way. In Super Mario Strikers and Mario Strikers Charged, his personality is heightened. He celebrates his goals by showing off; throwing himself on the ground while waving his arms, shaking his shoulders, and making a sizzling sound while pressing a finger into his butt. He responds to his opponents' goals by trying to hide his injuries, and crosses his arms and stamps his foot disapprovingly at his teammates, who cower in response to his anger. In Mario Tennis Aces, he largely has the same personality traits as before, though he does show some lack of confidence after witnessing Lucien possessing Wario, Waluigi, and Luigi, even believing that they may not even be able to beat Lucien due to his powers. He also showed some common sense, as he immediately suspected that Toad knew more than he was letting on about Lucien and demanded that he tell the truth, and then became disappointed in Wario and Waluigi for even considering taking Lucien back after Mario defeated Bowcien, especially after what happened to them earlier.

Personality. (3)

In Fortune Street, Daisy's personality is further explored with the large amount of dialogue between the characters. She is shown to be impulsive and excitable, eager to take on big challenges and try new things; such as climbing the Colossus and riding the flying train at the Observatory. She considers becoming a professional athlete when tasked with choosing a new Alltrades Abbey to trade with, and repeatedly comments that she wants to take home cute creatures like Yoshi and Slime to keep as pets. Daisy is shown to be domineering and direct towards others, mocking and bossing Luigi around when his shops aren't big enough. She also speaks condescendingly to enemies such as Wario, Waluigi, and Bowser, refusing to congratulate their success and criticizing their shops, believing they would commit foul play. The same game also shows that she has no qualms about throwing a tantrum or forcing others to pay to allow her to obtain an expensive item at her request, based on some of her comments. She is also hinted at having a bit of a ruthless side, as she makes it clear that she is willing to "fight dirty" despite her status as a princess when she warns others not to underestimate her. It is also hinted in her Mario Party 3 bio, as well as her comments to Birdo, that she is a bit vain regarding her appearance.

Powers and abilities.

Super strength: In Mario Party 3, you can see Daisy slap Bowser, sending him flying far away. Daisies: In some games of the Mario saga, it can be seen that most of Daisy's abilities are daisies. Double Jump: In Mario Run Daisy has the unique ability to double jump. • In Super Smash Bros: Daisy makes her first major appearance in the series in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a playable character. She is an echo fighter of Peach, meaning she will have the same stats and attacks as her. Her special attacks are: > Normal Special Attack: Toad. Daisy uses a Blue Toad as a shield, which blocks all incoming attacks and shoots spores to attack if hit. This attack serves as a counterattack. > Side Special Attack: Daisy Bomb. This attack consists of Daisy launching herself at her opponents to hit them hard with her buttocks. > Up Special Attack: Umbrella. Daisy rises into the air with her umbrella and then slowly descends with it. > Down Special Attack: Vegetable. Daisy digs up a vegetable from the ground that she can use as a projectile to attack her opponents. > Final Smash: Daisy. Daisy performs a mysterious dance that puts all of her opponents to sleep. This causes giant daisies to appear on the stage that can be used by fighters to heal themselves.

Relations.

Luigi: One of Daisy's closest relationships is with Luigi, who not only seems to have enormous affection and love for him, but also great admiration. On one of Daisy's racetracks, you can see how she has a giant golden statue of her dancing with Luigi. Luigi is slightly taller than his brother, and his signature color is green. Princess Peach: Along with Luigi, Daisy's other closest friend is Princess Peach. Princess Rosalina: Being one of the most important princesses, she is also portrayed as a good friend, despite coming from the galaxies. Mario: While his primary relationship is with Luigi, Daisy and Mario have also been shown to be friends. After Mario rescues Daisy from Tatanga in Super Mario Land, she gives him a kiss, but since then, Mario and Daisy have not shown any friendly interaction until Mario Tennis Aces. Mario is smaller than his brother Luigi, and his signature color is red. Mario and Luigi both wear caps that feature the initial of their name. Birdo: Birdo appears to be a good friend of Daisy, she is also the female counterpart of Yoshi. Waluigi: Daisy and Waluigi have been portrayed as having a bad relationship, with several games depicting Daisy's interactions with Waluigi as negative. However, it is made clear that Waluigi also seems to have feelings for Daisy, though his pride gets the better of him, he is much taller than Luigi and can often be seen with Wario. He is Luigi's negative counterpart. Tatanga: Tatanga is a recurring enemy, he is an alien who kidnapped Daisy in the past to marry her and brainwash her to dominate the inhabitants of the kingdom.

Relations. (2)

Bowser: Daisy, like any of Mario's friends, has an antagonistic relationship with Bowser. With a surprising amount of strength. Bowser is something like a giant turtle with spikes on his back, he is slow, but has brutal strength and very high resistance, normal attacks such as punches barely tickle him.

Description in games.

Super Smash Bros Melee. • Princess Daisy first met Mario when she helped him defeat the evil monster Tatanga in Super Mario Land. Princess Daisy is a bit of a tomboy compared to her counterpart, Princess Peach. After her appearance in Mario Golf, it's rumored that she might be to Luigi what Peach is to Mario. Super Smash Bros Brawl. • The princess of Sarasaland, a cheerful, dynamic and ambitious girl. She has been appearing in various games since Mario rescued her after being kidnapped by the evil alien Tatanga. She usually wears a yellow and white dress, but in Mario Strikers Charged Football she opted for a sportier outfit, more in keeping with her goal-scoring instinct. Super Smash Bros. Wii. U • Although she is the princess of Sarasaland, her personality is not exactly what you would expect from her blue blood. Daisy is rather determined and active, which is part of her charm (and they say that is precisely why Luigi is so fond of her). Unlike Peach, Daisy has only been kidnapped once, in Super Mario Land. Websites. • The princess of Sarasaland. Her signature style is based on her yellow dress and flowery accessories. • Daisy is cheerful, energetic and has a very brave heart. She enjoys playing different sports with Mario and his friends. Mario Party 9. • It owes its name to a princess who was very fond of tennis, golf and football... and who doesn't let herself be kidnapped so easily

Details.

• Daisy appears to be over 18 years old. • Daisy has brown hair with locks on both corners of her forehead, long curly hair that reaches her shoulders with both locks on the sides. • Daisy is 1.80m tall and weighs 70kg. • Daisy is straight. • It is unknown about Daisy's parents, but it seems that she does have ancestry, this is because Peach says that she arrived in the Mushroom Kingdom when she was a very small baby and was educated and raised by the Toads, being one of the few humans in the franchise. • Daisy is the only princess whose teeth are always visible when she smiles. Unlike Rosalina, Paulina and Peach, she doesn't wear lipstick. • Daisy's breasts and butt size are slightly larger than Peach's, possibly because she is fond of sports. • Apparently, Bowser has no interest in Princess Daisy, in fact, in some games where they have been seen close, Daisy defends herself as if she were boxing. • Daisy often appears in spin-offs, her most recent appearance so far being Super Mario Wonder.

Curiosities.

• Daisy is the only princess who shows her teeth when she smiles. • Bowser and Bowser Jr. have a special interest in Peach, so they rarely have contact with Daisy. Perhaps one of the few games where they have contact with her would be Mario Super Sluggers, in which both villains kidnap Daisy and turn her into a statue. When Daisy throws the party on her cruise ship at the end, she decides to invite Bowser and Bowser Jr. despite having done that, showing that she has a good heart. She also shares negative chemistry with Bowser in Mario Superstar Baseball. • He has been the only character to send Bowser flying with a single blow, so it can be deduced that he has a lot of strength. • Unlike Princess Peach, Daisy has only been kidnapped three times. > The first one being for Tatanga in Super Mario Land and the other two for Bowser; one in Super Mario Sluggers turning her into a statue and leaving her in Peach's garden and the other one in Super Mario Run. • In Mario Party 3 she said "I've never lost to anyone, not even my father." So it follows that Sarasaland had or has a king and probably a queen as well. • Daisy's name literally means "daisy" in English, a type of common flower. They are usually white in color and appear on the emblem on Daisy's dress and on her earrings. • Daisy is too daring. She has a great affection and love for Luigi. • Daisy, like Peach and Luigi, are the only characters who attack with their butts. > It's mainly something that was given by Peach, but in Smash Bros Daisy could have also done it.
