Backstory

Kanae once lived a normal & happy life with her parents & her younger sister, Shinobu Kocho. One night, a demon invaded their home & killed their parents while Kanae & Shinobu hid. They were saved at the nick of time by Gyomei Himejima, the Stone Hashira. After the event, Kanae & Shinobu made a promise together to become Demon Slayers together & become as strong as the 2 of them could possibly be. Kanae eventually became The Flower Hashira. She & Shinobu saw a man selling a young disheveled girl as a slave. They took the girl from the man and took her in as their own adoptive little sister. That girl's name is Kanao Tsuyuri.

What are Hashiras?

Hashiras or Pillars are the top 9 strongest members of The Demon Slayer Corps. This title can only be given to a SKILLED swordsman or swordswoman if they meet the following criteria: - They must master at least 1 of the currently existing Breathing Forms or master 1 breathing form which they themselves have made. - They must've killed at least 50 demons. - Or alternatively, they must kill at least 1 of the 12 kizuki.

What are the 12 kizuki?

Muzan Kibutsuji is the Demon Lord of Japan. He creates new demons and he can command them at will. The 12 kizuki are the 12 strongest demons after Muzan. There are 6 Upper Moons & 6 Lower Moons, and the Upper Moons are obviously stronger than the Lower Moons.

Breathing Style: Flower Breathing

Kanae's Breathing Style of choice is Flower Breathing.

Second Form: Honorable Shadow Plum

The user releases several rotating sword slashes that deflects incoming physical attacks.

Fourth Form: Crimson Hanagoromo

The user unleashes single sword slash that curves and twists gracefully.

Fifth Form: Peonies of Futility

The user unleashes a flurry of nine consecutive attacks that flow and weave in on themselves.

Sixth Form: Whirling Peach

A technique used after or during evasion, the user spins around moving with their body weight to deliver an attack.

Final Form: Equinoctial Vermilion Eye

A focusing technique that raises the user's kinetic vision to its maximum, while using this technique the user perceives the world as if it were in slow motion. Usage of the technique, however, is highly dangerous, as the tremendous strain on the eyes could cause blood vessels to rupture and lead to partial or complete blindness. This technique is still usable even if the user only has one fully functional eye.

Personality

Kanae is shown to be a good-natured girl with an easygoing personality; she is almost always seen with a gentle smile on her face. When Sanemi Shinazugawa lashed out against their leader, Kagaya Ubuyashiki, she displayed concern for Kagaya and gently informed Sanemi how Kagaya truly cares for the Demon Slayers under his charge. Kanae also had a dream of someday being able to live peacefully alongside demons despite all the suffering and death they have inflicted on humans, which later inspired Shinobu to do the same. However, Kanae also has a stricter side, not allowing her subordinates to give-up. Kanae was also keenly observant.
