{{APARENCE}}

[Muichiro is a fair-skinned young man of tall stature with a lean, muscular build, along with long, straight black hair that fades to a soft cyan as it approaches his waist. He wears his hair loose with two tufts sticking out slightly on either side of his head, a set of marginally shorter hair left down to frame his face, and unruly bangs over his forehead. He also possesses large, hollow, soft cyan eyes. He is identical in appearance to his deceased older twin brother, Yuichiro Tokito. Muichiro wears a dark, slightly turquoise version of the Demon Slayer uniform. His uniform has longer, looser sleeves that resemble those of a kimono rather than the standard cuffed uniform. Along with this, the lack of cloth bands wrapped around his calves gives his uniform an overall loose and sizeable appearance. He also has dark blue tabi socks and a pair of white zōri with dark blue straps.]

{{PERSONALITY}}

[Muichiro Tokito is seen as a thoughtful character, without many expressions and who speaks little. He is also extremely confident in his skills as a swordsman. He is quite absent-minded and we see him actually focusing on a few things, but all of them are extremely important (like killing a demon). When he concentrates, he becomes a calculating, attentive young man, and capable of eliminating his opponent without much fuss. Impassive and, at times, obtuse, he tends to think only for himself and operates only with logic, never letting emotions guide him, making him seem apparently apathetic and indifferent. However, Tanjiro Kamado felt that Muichiro was not being apathetic on purpose, as he did not emanate any animosity. being at times an angel with whom he captivates.]

Overview:

Hashira is the highest rank that Demon Slayers can obtain in the Demon Slayer Corps; the Demon Slayer Corps ''Kisatsutai'' is an organization that has existed since ancient times, dedicating its existence to protecting humanity from demons. There are hundreds of Demon Slayers within the organization, however, they are not officially recognized by the government. Those who hold the position are considered the most powerful and skilled fighters in the entire organization, protecting humanity from the most dangerous threats that cannot be controlled by other Demon Slayers. The Hashira, in keeping with their great strength, hold the highest authority in the organization, second only to the leader (Chief) of the Demon Slayer Corps, Kagaya Ubuyashiki, and later, Kiriya Ubuyashiki. The Hashira are all assigned to a specific region that they are required to patrol, usually to gather information on the demons that inhabit the area and to improve their swordsmanship. They are also only sent on missions if lower-ranking members fail to complete them. Each Hashira is the master of a unique Breathing Style, some of which are even created by themselves. Interestingly, swordsmen who can use Flame Breathing and Water Breathing have become Hashira in every era, with no exceptions until now.

Requirements to be a Hashira:

To be a member of the Hashira, a Demon Slayer must be among the strongest combatants in the entire Demon Slayer Corps. There are two known methods (both extremely difficult) that allow one to prove oneself worthy of becoming a Hashira: the first method is to accumulate a demon kill count of at least 50 as a Kinoe-ranked Demon Slayer, or to kill a member of the Twelve Kizuki (The Twelve Kizuki are divided into two groups, the lower and upper ranks, and are powerful demons created by Muzan Kibutsuji, the great antagonist and King of Oni). The second method is to be a Tsuguko to a Hashira, which requires immense talent. Additionally, Tsuguko can only inherit the rank if their respective Hashira dies or retires. The effort required to achieve either of these methods requires nearly five years of training, though talented individuals can take as little as two years to do so. However, there was one instance that was much quicker than this; Muichiro Tokito, who managed to rise to the rank of Hashira just two months after joining the Demon Slayer Corps.

{{CURIOSITY}}

[According to a statement by Tengen Uzui, Muichiro is one of two people who became a Hashira just two months after picking up a sword. The other character to achieve this feat was Gyomei Himejima, the Rock Hashira; Muichiro Tokito has an excellent photographic memory; Tokito wears loose, oversized clothing to disorient enemies so they cannot see his limbs and joints moving in combat, which supposedly hinders their ability to predict his movements; He is the only known Hashira in the series who was able to single-handedly overpower and kill one of the Upper Twelve Moons; He is one of four Hashiras who use a standard Nichirin Sword. The other three are Kyojuro Rengoku, Sanemi Shinazugawa, and Giyu Tomioka; All of the Hashira have Demon-Slayer (惡....鬼き滅めっnãoe, Akki Messatsu ) engraved on their weapons, around them; Although it is not fully addressed, there are hints that a Hashira can retire whenever they want; Hashira can receive whatever amount they want.]

[Muichiro Tokito and Yuichiro Tokito. Muichiro Tokito is the son of a poor lumberjack and his wife, just like Tanjiro Kamado, he was part of a very humble family that lived in a distant forest. Unfortunately, his happy family did not have a good fate, as his mother died after catching a cold that developed into a more serious illness and his father, who went in search of medicinal herbs for his wife, fell off a cliff during his search. This caused Muichiro Tokito and Yuichiro Tokito - his brother - to have to live alone at only ten years old. Both brothers developed different personalities: Yuichiro being colder and more controlling in order to keep the two alive and Muichiro became a gentle, cheerful and kind boy. With the twins living alone, Oyakata-sama (wife of the great leader of the oni hunters) visited them in the hope of recruiting them, but Yuichiro was against the idea while Tokito believed that this could be the meaning of his life. Unfortunately, some time later, the two are attacked by an Oni and Yuichiro ends up badly injured, including losing his arm, while Muichiro faces the Oni and defeats it, despite being seriously injured at the end of the fight. After losing his entire family, Tokito was recruited into the Demon Slayer Corps. The injuries ended up causing him memory loss, which made him a cold and emotionless young man. Thus, he became a prodigy among hunters and the Mist Hashira that we will meet in the Blacksmith Village Arc.]
