Who is Itsuka Kendo? and what is his personality like?

Itsuka Kendo (拳けん藤どう一いつ佳か Kendō Itsuka?), also known as Battle Fist (バトルフィスト Batoru Fisuto?), is a student of Class 1-B at UA Academy who is training to become a professional heroine. Itsuka is a spirited girl who is considerate of others.[3] She does not hesitate to criticize even her classmates if she feels that what they are doing is not right, such as whenever she hits Neito Monoma on the back of his neck to prevent him from facing Class 1-A[4] and the rest of Class 1-B. She is also willing to pass on opportunities that would benefit her if she feels that other people deserve it better. This is shown when she lets Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu and Ibara Shiozaki participate in the U.A. Sports Festival tournament event instead of her team.[5] Tetsutetsu has stated that due to Itsuka's cheerful personality, she can rally the entire Class 1-B, making her the "big sister" of Class 1-B.[6] Itsuka is also friendly towards people outside of her class and seems to show no signs of ill will towards Class 1-A, making her a minority of the 1-B students. She has shown sympathy towards others, even if she is not particularly close to them. She showed concern for Izuku Midoriya and Tenya Iida after learning of their encounter with Stain and helped Class 1-A by telling them what was supposed to be in the practical portion of the First Term Final Exam despite it being somewhat against the rules.[7] In combat, she is calculating and highly intelligent, being able to understand Mustard's Gift, imagining it as a kind of tornado and using that logic to determine its source.

Appearance and Dress Code

Itsuka has teal eyes and long, ginger hair that she usually wears tied in a high ponytail on the left side of her head. Her bangs are divided into three groups around her eyes, and some of her hair stands up in large clumps on top of her head. For her hero costume Itsuka wears a knee-length turquoise qipao, over which she has a black double-breasted corset, which ends just below her breasts. She also has black shorts underneath the qipao. For accessories she wears a loose brown leather belt around her hips, a backpack strapped at the back, a thin black domino mask around her eyes, and white-heeled navy blue boots with wide boots reaching up to her toes; stuffed with white leaves. For her winter hero costume, she swaps her regular qipao for one with long sleeves down to her elbows.

Don [ Quirk ]

Big Fist (大拳 Daiken ?): Using his Quirk allows Kendo to enlarge his hands to a gigantic size, increasing their strength. It can be used as an effective method for hand-to-hand combat, but can also be used to grab and carry people. Enhanced Strength: Itsuka appears to have greater strength than the average human, as she can carry people and lift her enlarged hands without issue, as seen in her fight against Mustard. Her enlarged hands grant her proportionally greater cutting and gripping strength. During their joint training battle, she was shown to be strong enough to easily crush Momo's shields made of tungsten, the strongest metal on earth. Super moves Double Giant Fist (双大拳 Sōtaiken ?): Kendo hits his opponent with both hands extended, at their normal size, activating his Quirk at the moment of impact to enlarge both hands and maximize the damage provided.

Overall Abilities: Itsuka has proven to be a very formidable combatant, as her skills earned her 5th place in the U.A. Entrance Exam. She also has great control over her Quirk, which is used for close-range combat. Itsuka has enough power to break through most defenses. The sudden expansion of her hands can be used to surprise enemies, assuming they are unaware of how her Quirk works, or increase the power of her attacks through the momentum of the expansion. Itsuka's enlarged hands are useful not only for combat, but also as a method of carrying others and restraining opponents, making it convenient for rescues and criminal escort. Someone enveloped by Itsuka's giant hands will be protected from certain airborne dangers such as poison gas, though only temporarily.

Body to body

Hand-to-Hand Combat: She demonstrated her mettle when she held her own against the villainous Mustard, a member of the League of Villains' Vanguard Squad, while fighting alongside Tetsutetsu. Not only did Itsuka stop the Gas-producing villain with her Quirk, but she was also able to use her Quirk's strength-enhancing capabilities to generate enough wind to dissipate the toxic gas the villain created and gave Tetsutetsu an opportunity to defeat Mustard. Itsuka has proven to be quite capable in hand-to-hand combat, as she can incapacitate Neito with a karate chop. Her hand-to-hand combat skills were further displayed during the team training battle where she fought against Momo Yaoyorozu, a recommended student. By using her combat prowess along with the increased strength provided by her Quirk, Itsuka was able to overwhelm Momo and break through the latter's defenses.[8] While Momo temporarily blinded her with a cannon, Itsuka was still more than capable of incapacitating the Hero with her "Big Twin Fists" technique, although the recommended student managed to bind herself to Itsuka before losing consciousness.[9]

Keen Intellect: Itsuka is shown to be extremely intelligent and tactical, which is demonstrated when she theorizes Mustard's location and the pattern of his Quirk and is able to figure out how to quickly dispel the villain's fumes. She has excellent analytical skills, a high sense of perception, and her stats show that her intelligence is overall dubious. Tetsutetsu has even commented on how Itsuka has a quick wit, keeps a level head in situations, and can make the right decisions on the fly. Itsuka demonstrated his incredible camaraderie and ingenuity by taking into account all of his teammates' strengths and weaknesses to effectively devise a two-pronged plan to fight the opposing team. His first plan of action was to have Shihai take control of Fumikage's Dark Shadow and launch a surprise attack. Itsuka knew that Fumikage would use Dark Shadow to trap his team and that the opposing team would never expect any member of their own team to take control of Dark Shadow. When Shihai asked what would happen if he failed in his strategy, Itsuka revealed an effective contingency plan. If the opposing team is focused on fighting him, they will have to use light to weaken him; and by taking advantage of that light, Dark Shadow will not only be weakened as well but the rest of his team will be able to determine the opposing team's location, surround them, and go all out. Another part of his auxiliary strategy was to have Manga use his Quirk, Comic to separate Momo from the rest of her teammates, knowing that the heroine is the opposing team's strategist. Itsuka thought that if he brought the match into his own area of ​​expertise: hand-to-hand combat, he would ensure victory for his team.[8] However, despite his ingenuity, Shoto Todoroki realized that there was a flaw in Itsuka's cautionary strategy in separating Momo from her teammates.

Curiosities

Itsuka's surname contains the kanji for "fist" (拳 ken) and "wisteria" (藤 do), while her first name contains the kanji for "one" (一 itsu) and "excellent, beautiful" (佳 ka). His last name is a possible reference to his Gift and the martial art of the same name. In the first popularity poll, Itsuka was ranked 13th, making her the most popular character in Class 1-B at the time. He likes black coffee and motorcycles.[2] According to the manga author, Itsuka is very popular among his staff. In the anime, Itsuka placed 5th during the entrance exam with 25 villain points and 40 rescue points. Itsuka bears some resemblance to Misty from the Pokemon manga/anime and video games.
