Descendants

Twenty years ago, after the wedding of Beauty and the Beast, both founded a nation united to all the kingdoms of the world that was called Auradon. To ensure peace, they decided to lock all the villains and their minions in the Isle of the Lost, a place far from the kingdom, covered by a magical barrier to prevent their escape and that any kind of magic fell into their hands. Currently, the teenage son of Beauty and Beast, Ben, is about to ascend to the throne. Having the same perspective as his mother of seeing the best in anyone, he lets his parents know of his first proclamation as king. The choice of four children of villains so that they can live in Auradon and be given a chance by not being guilty of the crimes of their parents. She reveals to them the descendants of the chosen villains, the children of the Evil Queen, Jafar, Cruella De Vil and Maleficent, the latter being the one who dismays her father for considering her the most dangerous, however, Belle convinces her husband to accept his son's idea. On the Isle of the Lost, Mal (the daughter of Maleficent and the god of hell Hades), Jay (Jafar's son), Evie (the daughter of the Evil Queen) and Carlos (Cruella de Vil's son) live evilly terrorizing the inhabitants, however, they are notified by Maleficent of her choice to go live in Auradon, however, she reveals to use this opportunity to send her descendants to steal the Fairy Godmother's magic wand and use it to tear down the magical barrier surrounding the island and begin the invasion of Auradon once and for all. To achieve her goal, the Evil Queen gives her daughter what remains of her Magic Mirror and Maleficent gives Mal her spell book.

A limo arrives to take the kids away. Using a remote control, the magical barrier opens and creates a magical bridge that allows them to reach the kingdom. At Auradon High School, they are greeted by the Fairy Godmother (who reveals to the kids that she no longer uses magic in Auradon, and thus no longer carries her wand), Ben (who seems to have a connection to Mal), and Audrey, Ben's girlfriend and the daughter of Sleeping Beauty Aurora (and thus a feud with Mal since they met). After being settled into their rooms, the kids begin a plan. Using the Magic Mirror, they discover that the wand is being kept in the Auradon Museum of Cultural History. During the night, they go to the site where all the enchanted artifacts emblematic of the kingdoms' histories are. Using Maleficent's spinning wheel and a spell from her mother's book, Mal puts the guard to sleep and they manage to infiltrate. They then come to a section where they see statues of their parents in their most evil form, and this saddens them. However, they fail to obtain the wand, as it was protected by a shield and they end up setting off an alarm, forcing them to flee. The next day, while having a Kindness Class taught by the Fairy Godmother, they meet Jane, her daughter. Mal, seeing her as a guide to obtaining the wand, follows her into the bathroom and uses the spell book to give her a nice hairstyle, putting the idea into her head to convince her mother to use the wand to make her beautiful.

As time goes by, the kids adjust to Auradon: Jay manages to get accepted into the Auradon tour team after the coach sees his aggression, as he sees it as a way for him to control her and for someone competitive to be on the team; Ben helps Carlos overcome his fear of dogs (inflicted by his mother) with Dude, a dog who always accompanies them, making Carlos and the pet have a great connection; Evie meets Chad, Cinderella's arrogant son and tries to act dumb to please him, but ends up being used to do her homework, and Doug, Dopey's son, encourages her to stop pretending to be a fool when he sees her intellectual capacity and that she does not need a prince to be happy. Meanwhile, Mal gains popularity by using the book to change the hairstyles of several of her classmates, including Mulan's daughter Lonnie. However, she continues to please her mother and go along with the plan. Evie informs everyone that the Fairy Godmother will be using the wand during Ben's coronation. Mal tries to convince the boy to give them front row seats, but he tells them that only his parents and girlfriend can be next to him. This causes Mal to begin another plan to get the wand. They attempt to cast a Love Spell on a cookie, using Lonnie's tear as the final ingredient by making her cry when they make her aware of his lack of fatherly love on the Isle of the Lost. With the spell complete, Mal gives the cookie to Ben the next day, causing him to declare his love in front of the entire school during a tournament and end up with Audrey.

Ben invites Mal on a date at the Enchanted Lake, a beautiful place decorated by Greek ruins. During the date, the boys talk about their lives and get to know each other better, while Ben swims for a while, Mal begins to enter a crossroads, disagreeing on whether to continue his villainous actions or follow what his heart dictates. At night, the boys begin to doubt their villainy as well as their friend; Jay with the tourney team, Carlos with Chico and Evie with her good grades. While this happens, Mal prepares a counter spell for Ben's enchantment, using a tear of sadness of her own, implying that she has begun to have feelings for the prince. Shortly after, Family Day is celebrated in Auradon. During the event, Mal meets Queen Leah, Aurora's mother, who reproaches the girl for her mother's spell that kept her separated from her daughter during important stages of her life. The boys are attacked by several Auradon teenagers, including Jane, which causes Mal to break the spell she had put on her hair, while Lonnie and Doug are taken away from them. This encourages the boys to continue with the plan. Coronation Day finally arrives, on the island, the villains are watching the event on television, while, in the kingdom, Mal and Ben are led to the castle. There, Ben gives Mal his ring to wear as his bride, while the girl gives him the cupcake containing the antidote to the Love Spell to eat later, but Ben eats it at that moment, which scares Mal for a moment. However, the boy reveals that he was aware of the spell, since in the Enchanted Lake the enchantment disappeared when he swam in it, confessing to her that the love he feels for her is genuine and believing that the spell was due to Mal's jealousy because he was Audrey's boyfriend.

During the ceremony, before the Fairy Godmother proclaims Ben as king of Auradon, someone snatches the wand from his hand, activates it and sends a bolt of lightning into the sky that ends up falling on the Isle of the Lost, opening a temporary hole in the barrier, a moment that is taken advantage of by Maleficent by using her scepter and escaping in a magical green cloud. In the castle, it is revealed that the person who took the wand was Jane, who, due to Mal's words, wants to use it to become beautiful. However, she is unable to control the power of the wand, causing it to start to get out of control, but Mal manages to get close and take it from her. There she meets with Jay, Evie and Carlos and they reveal their plan to take the wand to the island. Ben talks to them to try to convince them to make their own decisions. Mal tells the kids that she is happier being in Auradon and that they have all found something that makes them happy there. The kids decide to accept their life there and be happy. But at that moment, Maleficent bursts into the ceremony and demands that Mal hand over the wand, but her daughter throws it at the Fairy Godmother. Before the woman can do anything, Maleficent uses her scepter and freezes everyone except her and the four villainous offspring. She takes the wand and takes Ben's ring from Mal. However, her daughter reveals her new feeling of love to her, something that dismays her and warns her that she will not allow her to feel love in her life. Mal then dictates a spell and snatches the wand from her mother.

Maleficent, seeing the change in the four boys, transforms into a dragon with the intention of punishing them, but Mal intervenes and lets her know that she is not willing to allow her to attack her friends. Maleficent tries to control her daughter with a spell, but Mal manages to resist and casts an enchantment on her that ends up turning her into a lizard. At that moment, the Fairy Godmother unfreezes and reveals to them that the spell forced Maleficent to shrink to the size of the love that was in her heart. Mal returns the wand to her and the Fairy Godmother gives her the ring and unfreezes everyone. Mal lets the Fairy Godmother know that she was the one who put all the ideas that led Jane to take the wand in her head, telling the latter that she is a wonderful person, then makes a brief truce with Audrey while her mother is taken into captivity. Afterwards, all the boys celebrate the coronation in Auradon, while the Evil Queen, Jafar and Cruella watch everything from a distance, still trapped on the Isle of the Lost. During the celebration. Six months after becoming a citizen of Auradon, Mal struggles with her new celebrity life as King Ben's bride, trying to look like the typical princess, dyeing her hair blonde and leaving her villainous ways behind, she has become a celebrity, however, her efforts to look like the perfect girl begin to tire her and make her doubt her life in Auradon, however, her friends Jay, Carlos and Evie are happy for what they have now.

Evie, now a master seamstress, is in charge of the dresses for the upcoming royal ball, including Mal's. Evie catches Mal using magic to solve one of her many royal affairs, to which she scolds her for her excessive use of magic used by Maleficent's spell book, telling her that the book belongs in the Museum of Cultural History just like the Evil Queen's Mirror, however Mal ignores her. Carlos, nervous about telling Jane (the Fairy Godmother's daughter) his feelings, asks Mal for help, to which she makes him a spell-enhanced candy that will make him say everything he feels, however, Dude, Carlos's dog, ends up eating it and gains the ability to talk like a person, which surprises them both. Jay, now leader of the school fencing team, discovers Lonnie's (Mulan's) fighting skills during training, but Chad (Cinderella's son) makes fun of her, telling Jay that he can't let her in because of the rules that say the team can only consist of a captain and 8 men, something that outrages Lonnie. On the Isle of the Lost, Uma, daughter of Ursula, Mal's old enemy, is angry at Mal's perfect life, and resentful for not being chosen by Ben to go to Auradon. Ben surprises Mal by giving her a purple motorcycle, Mal tells him that she didn't bring him anything, but Ben reminds her that they were going to a picnic that day, something that Mal completely forgets, so she decides to use her spell book again to make food faster. During their outing, Ben discovers the book in the basket, to which he reproaches Mal for her use of magic in everything, telling her that she is no longer on the Isle of the Lost, to which Mal gets angry, telling him that he sees her as a perfect princess when in reality she is not,

Angry, she breaks the food spell and leaves. Already in her room, Mal puts on her villain costume again, takes her mother (who is still a lizard), puts her in a small box and takes her with her, Mal takes the motorcycle and heads to the coast, uses a spell on the motorcycle so that it can ride on water, and with that she arrives at the Isle of the Lost. Mal goes with Dizzy, daughter of Drizella, granddaughter of Lady Tremaine and friend of Evie to her beauty salon. Dizzy dyes Mal's hair purple again and gives her a new look, however, before leaving, Harry, Hook's son and ally of Uma discovers that Mal returned to the island, so he goes to inform Uma. Mal goes with Dizzy, daughter of Drizella, granddaughter of Lady Tremaine and friend of Evie to her beauty salon. Dizzy dyes Mal's hair purple again and gives her a new look, however, before they leave, Harry, Hook's son and Uma's ally discovers that Mal returned to the island, so he goes to inform Uma. Evie discovers that Mal left Auradon and informs Ben, so the two along with Jay and Carlos decide to go to the island to look for her, once there, the villainous children teach Ben how to act like a villain so as not to be recognized, however, Gil, Gaston's son and also Uma's ally informs him of Ben's presence on the island and of Mal's other friends.

The boys arrive at a hideout where Mal is living, Ben goes up to apologize to Mal, and wants to give her the ring that she returned to him before returning to the island, however, she does not want to return, saying that she is a villain and not a princess, and that she does it thinking about the well-being of Ben and Auradon, Ben, heartbroken, leaves the hideout, tells this to the boys and separates from the group, which Uma's henchmen take advantage of to capture him and take him to their ship, Harry tells the boys to inform Mal of this and if they want to see him again, to go alone to Ursula's Food Bar. The girl, having no other options, heads to the place. There, Uma mocks Mal's life in Auradon, Mal insists that she leave Ben out of their fights, Uma proposes an arm wrestling match, saying that if she wins, Ben will leave, Mal begins to have the advantage, however, Uma tells her that if she loses, she will give her the Magic Wand in exchange for Ben, which distracts Mal and Uma takes advantage of to defeat her, she tells her to give her the wand or she will throw Ben into the ocean. The guys, wanting to protect Auradon and save Ben, decide to use Carlos and Jay's 3-D printer to make a copy of the wand, while Evie and Mal make smoke bombs to use as a distraction, however, when Jay and Carlos prepare to return to the island after printing the wand, Lonnie arrives with several swords, since he hears talking about Ben being captured, threatens the guys and they take her to the island to help them, Dude follows them and sneaks into the limo.

At the port, Uma is shocked to see the wand, however, knowing that Mal is very good at deception, she asks for proof to see if the wand is real, Mal uses Dude, knowing of his ability to talk, to pretend to cast a spell on him to make him talk, which fools Uma, causing her to hand over Ben and Mal gives her the copy. However, Uma realizes the deception upon testing the wand and a sword fight ensues between the pirates and the Auradon boys, using the smoke bombs, they manage to escape to the limo, there, Ben tells Mal that Uma is only resentful for not being chosen to go to Auradon and that she does not resent him for his capture. However, Mal drops her spell book and leaves it on the island. Back in Auradon, Mal and Ben's relationship remains broken, and Mal tells her friends that she doesn't want to keep pretending that she's the perfect girl, to which her friends tell her not to be, that despite living in Auradon, the Isle of the Lost will always be a part of them. Carlos finally asks Jane to go to the dance with him, to which she accepts and Jay decides to make things right with Lonnie, naming her captain of the team and thus including her without breaking the rules.

Later, during the ball, which is held on a luxurious ship, Ben surprises everyone by arriving at the ball with Uma, claiming that he loves her, something that saddens Mal, however, Jane reveals a surprise gift that Ben had for Mal, a beautiful stained glass window with the picture of both of them and with Mal in her original style, realizing that Ben loves her for who she is and not for what she pretends to be, however, Uma tells Ben to reveal his gift to her, to which he says that it will break down the barrier and allow the villains to invade Auradon. Beast and the Fairy Godmother try to talk some sense into him, but Ben responds to them in a furious, screaming manner, something that surprises Mal, however, she realizes that it's all due to an enchantment that Uma cast on Ben using Mal's book. She tells Ben that she loves him but that her own insecurities didn't allow her to tell him, then she kisses Ben, which breaks the spell, Uma tries to grab the wand but seeing herself cornered, she jumps into the water and using her mother's necklace she transforms into a giant cecaelia (half octopus, half human -Uma-) and begins to attack the ship. Mal, enraged, transforms into a dragon, just like her mother and begins a battle with Uma, however, Ben gets in the way by throwing himself into the sea to stop the battle, he offers Uma to live in Auradon, but she simply gives him back the ring and walks away, Ben returns to the ship and Mal transforms back into a human, making her yellow dress turn purple after the transformation. Ben and Mal reconcile and kiss again.

In a mid-credits scene, a man arrives to give Dizzy an invitation to live in Auradon to which she reacts excitedly. In another post-credits scene, Uma appears again still in her octopus form, saying that the story is not over. Mal, Evie, Jay, and Carlos, now happy with their lives in Auradon, return to the Isle of the Lost to celebrate Young Villains Day, where four descendants will be chosen to go to Auradon as they were. The chosen ones were Dizzy, the daughter of Drizella Tremaine, Celia, the daughter of Dr. Facilier, and Squeamy and Squirmy, the twin sons of Mr. Smee. The problems begin when Hades tries to escape the island, managing to get out of the barrier a little, activates his ember and attacks Carlos, Jay and Ben, Mal transforms into a dragon and faces Hades, however he manages to attack her with the ember, draining part of her powers, but Mal manages to counterattack, drives Hades back and closes the barrier again, all this being seen by all of Auradon. During a celebration, Ben, king of Auradon and son of Belle and Beast, proposes to Mal, causing the jealousy of Audrey, Aurora's daughter and Ben's former girlfriend. During the night, Audrey, hurt and angry about Mal's future, infiltrates the Museum of Cultural History and reaches the Queen's Crown, attracted and hypnotized by the Dragon's Eye (Maleficent's scepter), steals the crown and takes the scepter, being corrupted and self-proclaiming herself "The Queen of Mean" ("The Queen of Mean" in English). The next day, Fairy Godmother, Mal, Belle and Beast are informed by Ben of the theft of the crown and scepter, fearing more for the safety of Auradon and that another villain may escape again, Mal proposes to seal the barrier permanently, knowing that they will not be able to get any villain's children out again and they will not be able to enter to see their parents again.

Mal tells Evie this, but omits that she proposed the decision. The four children of villains prepare for the birthday party of Jane, the Fairy Godmother's daughter and Carlos' girlfriend. As Mal leaves Evie's house, she is visited by Audrey, who now dresses as a villain and threatens Mal, who tries to talk some sense into Audrey, however, Audrey, using the magic of the scepter, casts a spell on Mal, transforming her into an old hag. Audrey escapes and Mal's friends come to her aid, however, Mal explains to them that no spell is capable of destroying a spell on the scepter and that the only thing capable of defeating the Dragon's Eye is the Ember of Hades, to which no one knows where its lair is, but Celia informs them that she does know, since her father entrusts Hades with favors, to which Mal decides to take her with them back to the island. Using the bikes and a spell from Mal, they arrive at the Isle of the Lost, where Audrey's spell on Mal is broken, as no evil magic works within the magical barrier. Celia guides them to Dr. Facilier's / Shadow Man's Amusement Park, who happily welcomes his daughter home, Celia takes the key to Hades' lair, but the boys' bikes are stolen by Harry, son of Hook, Gil, son of Gaston and his band of pirates, Carlos, Jay and Evie go to try to get them back while Celia and Mal try to steal the Ember.

Meanwhile at Jane's party, Audrey arrives furious at not being invited, Chad convinces her to accept him as an ally, using the scepter, Audrey spreads a spell throughout the party to make the guests fall asleep, Jane, seeing the Enchanted Lake and knowing that no spell can affect her within it, dives in and is protected from the sleeping charm, which disappears when Audrey leaves. Jane reports what happened to Ben so he can take precautions. Mal and Celia arrive at Hades' lair, however, he discovers them, Mal reveals that Hades is her father and that he abandoned her when she was a baby, however he claims that he abandoned his mother, because she had a difficult character. Mal asks Hades for the Ember, he tells her that it only works on him, but Mal explains that it will also work on her because she is his daughter, Hades tells her that it will not work the same way because she is only half Hades, but when she insists, Hades gives it to her, warning that if the Ember gets wet, it will stop working. Mal, Evie, Jay, Carlos and Celia leave the island, however, before the barrier closes, Harry and Gil escape, when trying to lock them back on the island, the Ember falls into the water, but is caught by Uma, who in her octopus form manages to get it before it gets wet, then at Evie's request, she and Mal agree to a truce, to work together and face Audrey, Uma accepts on the condition that she can take out any villain's son, but distrusting her, she decides to keep the Ember, momentarily.

Ben is visited by Audrey, who tells him that she will break the Sleeping Spell if he makes her his queen, Ben refuses, so Audrey casts a spell on him, turning him into the Beast, and turns the remaining citizens to stone (including the Fairy Godmother, who was going for his wand). The eight villain children (Mal, Evie, Uma, Celia, Jay, Carlos, Harry and Gil) arrive in Auradon, discovering that everyone is asleep and some turned to stone, they all decide to go to the castle to find Ben, Audrey who watches them through the Dragon's Eye, enchants some armor and a battle begins between the villain children, but Mal manages to break the spell. Uma proposes to investigate Audrey's room, where they suspect that she might be hiding in the place where Aurora was hidden from Maleficent. Jay, Carlos, Harry, Gil and Dude go out to find Ben, where they find him turned into a beast by Audrey's spell and tries to attack Harry and Gil, Carlos manages to calm him down and Jane arrives, dousing him with water from the Enchanted Lake and gradually undoing the spell. Mal, Evie, Uma, Celia and Doug, Dopey's son, are locked in Evie's house by Audrey, Mal tries to break the spell, but Audrey's magic grows stronger, however, Uma and Mal recite the spell together, managing to break the enchantment and free themselves, Uma, being happier and safer to be with Mal, returns the Ember to him, they meet up with the others and inform them of the place where Audrey could be. Jane, Doug and Gil go to find the Fairy Godmother, discovering that she has been petrified.

The others head to the cabin, however Audrey escaped. Outside it, unable to hide the lie, Mal reveals to them the plan to seal the barrier permanently, which provokes the anger of her friends and Celia, who in a fit of rage, takes the Ember, throws it into the water and escapes from there, Mal asks Uma to help her relight it, but she refuses due to her lie and together with Harry they also leave. Evie, Jay and Carlos reproach Mal for her deception, she tries to make them understand but Audrey turns them along with Ben and Dude into stone, Mal, seeing herself alone, regrets the deception, but realizes that she is a villain and that like everyone else, she has a chance to get out and redeem herself. Audrey kidnaps Celia and holds her hostage for Mal to rescue her. Mal transforms into a dragon and tries to attack Audrey, however, with the Ember extinguished, the power of the scepter is shown to be much greater, Uma and Harry, seeing the fight, return to help Mal, together, the Ember is rekindled and Mal attacks Audrey who at the same time tries to hex her. The power of the Ember is shown to be much greater than the scepter, managing to make the spell bounce back to Audrey, plunging her into a deep sleep, Mal manages to rescue Celia and all of Audrey's curses are broken. However, Audrey continues to sleep, Mal tries to wake her with the Ember, but it does not work, remembering that the power of the Ember does not work the same with her as with her father. Belle, Beast, Mal, Ben, the Fairy Godmother, and Queen Leah (Audrey's grandmother) are watching over Audrey, who is still asleep and the spell is taking forever, Mal tells her that only one person is capable of waking her and that is Hades, revealing that she might be able to convince him since she tells everyone that he is her father. Belle, Beast, and Ben agree to bring Hades, Mal gives Hades his Ember back and he wakes Audrey, regretting his villainous actions. Both Mal and Ben apologize to Audrey.

Hades surrenders again, Mal says goodbye to him and he secretly gives her the Ember. On the day of her engagement party, Mal refuses to be the queen that everyone wants her to be, and decides to be what she really is, a reformed villain turned hero, proclaiming that every villain and child deserves a second chance. The Fairy Godmother gives Mal her Magic Wand, the kids proclaim the spell and tear down the barrier permanently, uniting the Isle of the Lost and Auradon. The children of villains reunite with their family, Hades arrives to live his life with Mal, forgiving herself and accepting being a daughter and father, ready to live a new life where villains and heroes live together, in harmony and having their happy ending. When no one is left, Mal and his three friends go to the Isle of the Lost to meet their parents.
