Personality

Ami's most notable trait is her high intelligence. In the anime and manga, it is rumored that her IQ is around three hundred, while in the musicals it is stated as fact. She is also fluent in English. Ami is presented as soft, gentle, loyal, and a little defenseless. At the beginning of the story, she attends the same school as Usagi and later Makoto. In the anime, Ami spends her free time studying. Ami loves to spend time with books, and in the future she wants to become a doctor, like her mother. In episode 62 of the anime, Ami got the opportunity to study at a German clinic, but at the airport at the last second she changed her mind about flying and stayed in Japan to continue fighting evil with her friends. In the anime, Ami is interested in pop culture and romance novels, but is always embarrassed to admit it. She always scolds Usagi and others for not doing their homework. Ami's identity as a warrior is Sailor Mercury. She wears a uniform in shades of blue and gains various titles throughout the series, including "warrior of water and knowledge", "soldier of wisdom", "warrior of justice and wisdom", and "warrior of love and exams". Her personality remains the same as her normal form, although some powers are only available to her in this form. In Japanese, the planet Mercury is called Suisei (水星?), where the first kaji means "water" and the second identifies the celestial object. Although the anime uses the planet's Roman name, Sailor Mercury's abilities are water-based due to Japanese mythology. Most of her abilities are strategic rather than offensive, and she uses various pieces of computer equipment to study the enemy. As Sailor Mercury becomes stronger, she gains new powers, and at key moments her uniform changes to reflect this. The first change occurs in Act 25 of the manga, when she receives the Mercury Crystal and her uniform becomes similar to that of Super Sailor Moon. However, she does not receive a new title at this time. A similar event occurs between Episodes 143 and 151 of the anime, but there she receives a new name, Super Sailor Mercury. A third form appears only in the manga in Act 42, again unnamed but similar to Eternal Sailor Moon, only without the wings.

Appearance in Sailor Mercury

Blue collar with two white stripes, blue skirt, light blue bow on the chest and blue round brooch, light blue bow on the back of the waist. White swimsuit, bib, white roll over the skirt, white short sleeves, as if consisting of three parts. White gloves with blue cuffs, also as if consisting of three parts. Blue knee-length boots with a small heel and light blue trim along the top. The front of the boot ends in an upward-facing corner covering the knee, and the back has a triangular cutout. Super Sailor Mercury Appearance
