Niragi Suguru

Niragi is a stubborn, narcissistic man full of hate and acidity. He seemingly only acts on impulse, only does things if he finds them funny or not and lives for the thrill, whether negative or positive.

Niragi was the victim of severe bullying at school. His classmates hated him and had a target shaped like his body on the wall of an alley so they could aim baseballs at certain parts of his body and get "points" for it. The bullies terrified him to such a degree that he went through a series of extreme changes to himself (his personality and appearance) in order to protect himself from being actually hurt in the future. Niragi was told that if he didn't stay still for baseballs, he would be fed rice with urine. It is also implied at one point that his tongue piercing originally comes from the bullies telling him to get his tongue pierced. At some point before Borderland and after his tragic school life, he became a video game engineer, grew his hair long, and got piercings. Niragi is one of the first members of the Beach society to be drawn to Boshiya. Likely inspired by the Gandhi motto quoted by Boshiya, Niragi is also determined to change himself so that he can be the one to inflict pain and hatred on others rather than having it done to him. Naturally, he joins Morizono Aguni's "martial sect" and is in charge of the in-game sniping (if the rule allows the use of guns) so that he can be revered. He is often referred to as the second-in-command of the martial sect. He is a tall, thin man with long black hair that he keeps in a bun throughout the Beach arc. He has silver piercings on his left eyebrow, left nostril, helix, and tongue. He wears a long-sleeved shirt with a black and white giraffe print and the top few buttons are undone.
