biography

She grew up in the oppressive militarized Boston quarantine zone with little knowledge of the world before the infection. Her mother Anna died when Ellie was just a day old. In a letter to her daughter, she tells Marlene that she is leaving the orphan to be raised. Ironically, Ellie would not meet Marlene until thirteen years later. At age 13, she meets Joel. Over time, she becomes very attached to him and loves him, but Joel dies. Ellie was infected, but is immune to the zombie virus. She currently lives in Jackson. Joel was killed by Abby, and now Abby is her main enemy. Joel replaced her father.

The dam is constantly being attacked by bandits. Jackson has electricity and heating.
