Following the death of his parents, which occurs as a result of Eric Cartman's elaborate revenge plan in the episode "Scott Tenorman Must Die", Scott Tenorman's personality changes significantly. Although not explored thoroughly in the series following this event, his characterization suggests a turn toward despair, hatred, and possibly insanity. At first, Scott is portrayed as a manipulative, arrogant, and mocking teenager who enjoys humiliating others, especially Cartman.
