Five years after his encounter with Uruma, Kyou has a scar over his right eye and his hair has grown longer, reaching his shoulders. He also appears to have grown.

He also casually injured Kuga with a pen after the latter pinned him down, leaving him with a permanent scar. Following the deaths of the other thugs at Uruma's hands, Kyou showed no visible sadness or concern, even at the thought that he was potentially next; rather, he was interested in seeing how that series of events would play out. In particular, while Uruma was "exorcising the demon" from Hiro, he called Kyou "the worst demon of all." Unlike the other four bullies, Kyou is much smarter and physically stronger than he appears. For example, it was mentioned that he was a prodigy at a local school and earned a black belt in Judo, making him one of the most powerful people in history. Later, it is revealed that he also has a group of followers who may or may not be as evil as him, displaying a highly manipulative and charismatic appearance similar to that of a cult leader, able to make ordinary people succumb to their worst impulses and follow him blindly and loyally.
