Usopp is the son of Yasopp, a pirate who is part of Shanks the Redhead's crew. Yasopp left Usopp and his mother to become a pirate when Usopp was very young. To cheer her up, Usopp ran around shouting that Yasopp had returned and would take him and his mother away. Personality

Usopp is one of the most sentimental of the Straw Hat Pirates, and cries or gets angry easily in times of emotional stress. At the beginning of the series, Usopp was a compulsive liar who scared very easily. Unlike Nami (whose cowardice is linked to him just wanting to stay alive), Usopp's cowardice is a result of his fear and insecurity, especially when he is faced with uncertainty. Appearance

For most of the story, Usopp is a thin, mixed-skinned teenager with curly black hair, thick lips, and a long nose, which is apparently an allusion to Pinocchio, a wooden boy from a story of the same name who possessed a nose that extended when he told lies. Eiichirō Oda claims that Usopp's real-life homeland would be the continent of Africa, so we can intuit that he is of African origin.
