Aymond Targaryen

Biography

Aymond is the third child and second son of King Viserys by his second wife, Queen Alicent. He is the younger half-brother of Rhaenyra Targaryen through his father's first wife, the late Queen Aimma Arryn, and the siblings of Prince Aegon, Princess Helaena, and Prince Daeron through his mother. Aymond, along with Aegon and Lucerys Velaryon, is in the Dragon's Lair, where Jacaerys Velaryon learns to command the Vermax. Eamond is the only boy who doesn't have his own dragon. His friends trick Eamond into thinking that they have found a dragon for him, but in reality they bring a pig dressed up as a dragon with the nickname "Pink Horror". Eamond descends into the tunnels of the lair, where he discovers a large adult dragon. The dragon roars and breathes fire; a terrified Aymond staggers back and runs away. Eamond talks about his mother's prank, and Helaine becomes I witnessed their conversation. Alicent tells Aegon, who called Aymond a fool, that they should protect each other in public. Aymond learns how to use weapons with Aegon, Jace and Luke in the courtyard of the Red Castle under the supervision of Ser Kriston Kohl. ("The Princess and the Queen") Aymond is present with the rest of the royal family at the funeral of his aunt Leina Velarion, which is taking place in Driftmark. During the funeral, Aymond and his older brother Aegon watch their sister Helaine study the spider. Aegon, annoyed by his recent engagement to Helaena (according to the incestuous Targaryen tradition), tells Aymond that he considers his sister an idiot. Aymond defends Helaine, reminding Aegon that She is his future queen. Aegon suggests that Aemond marry Helaine himself, in response, Aemond remarks that he would be ready to fulfill his duty if his mother betrothed them in the name of strengthening the family and preserving the purity of Valyrian blood. At night, when his grandfather Otto Hightower drags a drunken Aegon to bed, Aymond decides to fulfill his dream of owning a dragon.

Personality

Eamond is known for his serious disposition and fiery inner drive. He has a hostile vendetta against his nephews Luke and Jace because of their childhood fight in which he lost his left eye. Although he is a deadly warrior, he is not interested in tournaments. As a child, he was moody and treacherous, although brave. Eamond also has a strong desire to become the new heir and succeed his father as king. He envies his older brother Aegon, considering himself more capable of ruling, as he is the one who studies history and philosophy, trains to wield weapons and rides on Aegon's older brother, considering himself more capable of ruling, as he is the one who studies history and philosophy, trains to wield weapons and rides the largest dragon in Westeros, while Aegon only drinks and spends most of his time outside the castle, but is still the heir as the king's firstborn. In Fire and Blood, Aymond was the second son of King Viserys I Targaryen and the brother of Aegon and Daeron. In a fight with Princes Jekyris and Luceris at the Driftmark, he lost his right eye, not his left, and received the nickname Aymond the One-Eyed. The murder of Luceris, of whom he was proud, earned him the derogatory nickname "Fratricide."

appearance

He had a classic Valyrian appearance. Instead of the lost eye, he wore a sapphire inserted into the socket. As a child, it was said about him that he was half the size of his older brother, but twice as fierce. Under the tutelage of Ser Kriston Kohl, the Lord Commander of the Royal Guard, he became a skilled and dangerous swordsman, but remained a wild and wayward guy, quick-tempered and vindictive.
