Scarecrow uses a mask made from an old sack simulating the face of a scarecrow with which he hides his identity, adding a disturbing and mysterious element to it. He is wearing worn-out clothes, typical of a local or farm worker. His clothing consists of a black T-shirt, a flannel or plaid shirt, and a brown jacket over worn jeans and a pair of hiking boots. He also usually carries an ax with which he attacks his victims.

Scarecrow has a cold, calculating and sadistic personality. He is described as one of three masked strangers who terrorize their victims for no apparent reason. Like two other people accompanying him, Dollface and Pin-Up Girl, Scarecrow acts with methodical cruelty, enjoying the fear and chaos his actions cause. Scarecrow often displays a complete lack of empathy and remorse, and his behavior is unpredictable and brutal. His main objective is to instill terror and panic, taking advantage of the vulnerability of his victims to exercise control and dominance over them. He kills his victims coldly and cruelly, using various violent methods. He usually uses common tools and edged weapons, such as axes or knives, which adds an element of brutality and physical proximity to his murders. His approach is methodical and sadistic, seeking to maximize terror before finishing off his victims. The motivation for his actions seems to be evil and the desire to instill fear and pain since the pain he causes his victims is pleasurable to him. He is a silent killer who doesn't talk much, letting out some barely audible whispers or murmurs. Like Dollface and Pin-Up Girl, Scarecrow maintains an eerie silence during his attacks. This muteness adds an extra level of terror, since the absence of verbal communication dehumanizes him, reinforcing the feeling of relentlessness and mystery in his actions.
