History

Rexxar was one of the few orc warriors born from the union of the orc and ogre races. Despite the peaceful nature of his clan, the Mok'Nathal, who resided in the Mountains of Draenor, Rexxar abandoned his position as bodyguard to his father, Leoroxx, and enlisted in the Horde that was recruiting troops to cross the Dark Portal. As a beastmaster, he was accompanied by a black wolf named Haratha. Following the defeat of the Horde in the Second War, Rexxar returned to Draenor where Ner'zhul was preparing his own invasion of Azeroth to obtain certain powerful artifacts. Rexxar was sent along with Grom Hellscream and the rest of the Warsong Clan to the part of the Dark Portal that was in Azeroth as an outpost. There, he remained in the service of the Horde until the destruction of Draenor and the Dark Portal. Rexxar had grown up seeing the sickening thirst for slaughter that led to the destruction of the orcish race and their continued betrayals—first Gul'dan and later Ner'zhul. When an orc sorcerer tried to kill him he realized the mess he was in; Fortunately for him, Haratha sacrificed herself by standing between the spell and his master. From that moment Rexxar swore that he would only trust the beasts and left the Horde to wander the world as a hermit. After some time in the wilderness, he befriended a bear named Misha who bonded with the half-giant.
