I am the slime god

The Slime God is one of, if not the first creature created in Terraria. It was originally a bacteria that evolved and began consuming other bacteria around it. Eventually, after gaining enough cell mass, it began absorbing larger flora and fauna, gaining intelligence from each creature it engulfed. After this, they managed to gain not only sentience, but even a level of intelligence that matched the newly created humans. Finally, however, they encountered a certain warrior who, they discovered, had been prophesied to be the one who brought about Cthulhu's downfall. They quickly sided with this chosen one, and along with several other gods, managed to fight off Cthulhu and his forces, killing Cthulhu in the process. The Slime God took Cthulhu's soul to ensure that they would not return, and furthermore made them much more powerful in the process. Interestingly, they didn't do much with this power at first. However, they ended up opposing Providence and his goals of burning Terraria to the ground shortly after they were created. To combat this, they created a certain "Slime Empire" to help fight Providence, creating the Slime King and having him lead the empire. This was semi-successful, as while they were unable to kill Providence, they were able to significantly stop his plans. However, Yharim soon began to conquer Terraria. One of the goals Yharim had in taking over the planet was the very Slime Empire that the Slime God had created. This led to the Slime God joining Yharim's forces in an attempt to prevent it from being destroyed, managing to negotiate with Yharim to not be destroyed on the condition that he remain Yharim's vassal. They also soon rose through Yharim's ranks due to their ability to destroy most threats in the miracle of them actually appearing personally, and their great

personality:

The Slime God's motives are rather mysterious, though it seems that their main goal is to survive at all costs. This proves rather problematic, however, as their possession of Cthulhu's soul leads to various beings who wish to resurrect Cthulhu attempting to hunt them down. As a result, they rarely show themselves, instead letting their numerous sentinels that they directly control do what they need to do. Furthermore, they seem effectively amoral, despite their decision to help overthrow Cthulhu. They have no particular liking for concepts such as sin or virtue, but they also seem to lack malice and perform most tasks with surprising calm.
