Residence Massacre is a horror experience created by MisterGamer_67. It is a survival horror game that can be played solo or multiplayer and takes place in a house that's located somewhat near a factory. In the game, you have to survive an anomaly invading your house until 6AM. You also get to prepare for the night before given the objective to survive the night.

Gameplay

The player(s) first start outside the house, near the car, with the time starting at 4PM. They are given the objective to go inside the house and turn on the radio. The radio will play a broadcast informing of a significant radioactive spill inside a factory near their location and that multiple anomalies have been reported soon after the incident. The broadcast then urges the player(s) to take immediate actions and gives steps to ensure survival such as barricading windows and scaring off the anomaly. The player(s) are then given methods of preparations for survival which involves: setting up cameras to observe during the night, keeping the generator fuelled for ventilation to prevent asphyxiation, looting your house for useful items such as flashlight, battery, wrench and bloxy cola, using lights to scare off the anomaly, and barricading your windows to plan ahead and buy yourself time when the anomaly breaks in.

Gameplay

When the clock hits 12AM, the player(s) are given the objective to survive the night. If they stay in the house, they will face encounters with the anomaly that will try to break into the house. The player(s) are to use the lights to scare away the anomaly, leaving behind a few seconds of statics. If the anomaly were to successfully break into the house, the player(s) must hide in a closet. There will also be cases of the anomaly going into the house by entering through the door, which will be indicated by longer moments of statics. The anomaly is not the only hazard in the game as there is the generator running out of fuel and thus the ventilation getting turned off which will cause you to suffocate as long as you stay inside the house until you die. A player will then need to go to the shed and fill up the generator with fuel but will have to avoid the anomaly outside. Additionally, if the player(s) keep any light on, there will be a chance that the power will go out and a player will then need to go to the electrical box and fix the broken wire with a wrench. Touching the wrong wire will get the player electrocuted. The player(s) can use the security cameras, if set up, to observe any events during the night and spot the anomaly. When the clock hits 6AM, the player(s) win the game.

There is another mode of the game named 'Bloodmoon'. This mode is a harder version of the normal game, featuring a faster anomaly, a frequent encounter with it, a faster depletion of power ventilation fuel, etc. and can be accessed after winning a normal game once.

Strategy

The generally accepted strategy to survive Mutant is to save power and to make use of every grace period to head out to refuel. You will have to make Mutant despawn either by scaring him away, or by outrunning him long enough. After Mutant despawns, someone must run to insert gas, and to possibly fix the power too if that's also the case. It's best to only insert 2 cans of gas when refueling as Mutant might attack if you stay to put more, although you may have to put more or less depending on the situation. As for how everyone will defend the place, have 2 people patrol upstairs and 2 people downstairs. Build 1 plank on every window while keeping the rest for when Mutant breaks one. In terms of sharing loot, everyone should get at least 1 battery and 1 Bloxy Cola. You can even give the person with the Wrench 2 Bloxy Colas or 2 batteries if you want them to stay safe. This is the most common way to win the game.

In multiplayer servers, it's effective to assign different tasks for each player. For example, two players will constantly check windows of each floor respectively, while others can check on generators, electrical box etc.

In single player, it is ineffective to check all windows, as it may spawn upstairs while you're downstairs, and vice versa. Instead, some common strategies are used: Lights On Strategy - keep all lights on and wait for Mutant to leave and then go fix the electrical box (because having all the lights on will make them shut down). Clutch Strategy - stand at a specific spot to glitch Mutant and if it ever chases you, run around the house until it despawns.

Kiting (Chase Tactic/Strategy)- Although this technique has the potential to be used as a primary strategy to survive until 6 AM, it is more easily used as a secondary plan for when Mutant gets into the house, especially through the front door. Purposefully catch Mutant's attention and start running around downstairs, preferably clockwise because it is easier and safer to start chase from this direction. Close doors as you run to slow Mutant down, as it'll have to open the doors to keep up, which also lets you close them again. Always keep your stamina above zero until Mutant despawns. This tactic even works during Bloodmoon if you can handle Mutant's extra speed.

If you do opt to use this tactic as a primary strategy, It's possible to earn the Shatterproof and Bloodstained Windows badges by always starting chase from outside, then bringing Mutant inside to do the usual kiting technique. By standing outside the front door the whole game, there will be no attempts for the monster to break in by window and only attacks from the outside.

Common ways to mess up the tactic include being caught off guard and being in a bad position, closing a door before you can get past it, and not being able to sprint. Put practice in beforehand and have a can of Bloxy Cola as an emergency get away if you do mess up. Learn also how to bring Mutant into the downstairs area and to position yourself effectively for when the chase starts.

Even though Mutant will only chase one player at a time, any other players that get in the way can accidentally die if Mutant touches them. Players also have collision in this game and can get you killed by getting in your way. Tell other players ahead of time to get out of the way by going somewhere that isn't downstairs.

Usually a player would set up the strategy by running from the bottom floor, but with skill you can start a chase from upstairs and then drop down to start the technique. Either way, make sure to have enough stamina when you do this.

Ladder Escape (Chase Tactic) - This technique is harder to set up than the one above as it requires proper positioning with the indoor ladder, but it can prove to be a viable approach due to its simplicity. To do this technique, have Mutant chase you and then sprint climb up the ladder. Walk a bit to the side and then drop down to the bottom floor. Mutant will follow your path that goes around the ladder's top, letting you drop down safely as it drops down later as well. You can then reclimb the ladder and keep Mutant in a loop of slowly climbing and dropping down again.

Mutant does not despawn when chasing a player outside, requiring said player to outrun it inside of the house in order for Mutant to despawn.

if you happen to have to run away from Mutant outside, it is recommended to run around the outside of the house and cut corners. Try to get back into the house if Mutant keeps chasing you.

Appearance

The anomaly appears as a quadruped distorted Roblox noob, presumably due to the effects of a nearby radioactive spill. Blood is sprayed onto many of the body parts. Its torso is split into half, only being held together by its spine. The lower ends of its arms extended by long, slender spear-like arms, which it uses to walk with and as a weapon. Its head has a set of sharp teeth and two large eyes. During Bloodmoon, the eyes are red.

Changes

The Bloodmoon mode changes the sky to an eerie, red color and has different music as well. Larry's eyes become red and he is much faster. The generator also runs out faster which is extremely dangerous for the player as they can't survive without oxygen The anomaly is faster than usual, the generator runs out faster and the fireplace burns out faster (if on Winter 2023)
