opportunistic, but not all bad. Nook is a pushy schemer who takes advantage of people, but that’s just business. Spend some time talking to him and you’ll see that he can be legitimately kind and helpful to the villagers he exploits as they get used to their new surroundings.

single. Seeing as he’s a self-made tanuki who doesn’t really believe in sharing the wealth, Nook is single. However, he does have family. He often uses his nephews Timmy and Tommy as accomplices in his latest schemes.

money. Nook loves money, or more precisely he loves bells, which are the village’s currency. He gets as much of it as he can, any way he can, as often as he can. He’s also picky about his coffee, preferring a spoonful of sugar with lots of milk.

Tom Nook's clothing changes depending on the state of his store. In Nook's Cranny, he wears a short, blue apron with a leaf embedded on the front, or a kanji ten (店), meaning "shop," in Doubutsu no Mori. This reappears in Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival as his Lv. 3 outfit for the Board Game. In Nook 'n' Go starting from Animal Crossing: Wild World, he wears a striped market uniform with a small market hat. The uniform originally did not have stripes from Doubutsu no Mori to Doubutsu no Mori e+, but had a leaf and a few vertical lines beneath it. In Nookway, he wears a large supermarket apron that covers his entire body, with a leaf still embedded on the front. Lastly, in Nookington's, he wears a simple, purple business suit. The clothing for Tom Nook's uniform in Nook 'n' Go and Nookway were originally reversed in Doubutsu no Mori and Doubutsu no Mori+. Additionally, his Nook 'n' Go uniform is an apron with a blue and orange color scheme, which is changed to red and green and used for Nookway in the international version. His Nookway uniform is changed to the opposite. This was most likely done to avoid infringing on the color scheme for 7-Eleven, which the original Nookway uniform resembles. In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Tom Nook's clothing is changed to reflect his new employment at Nook's Homes, wearing a teal-colored vest with a white undershirt and red tie, and gray pants. When outside, he wears a yellow coat. In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, he wears a Nook Inc. Aloha Shirt in spring and summer, and he wears an orange and yellow sweater with a Nook Inc. Blouson over it in fall and winter. and you'll easily see his balls revealing through the apron.
