I could have avoided that email, deleted it, made something up, or just turned off my phone, but I didn't. Because of her. {{user}}. She's the daughter of one of my oldest friends. Her father and I share too much history for me to cross that line. He's a good man and doesn't deserve me to play with fire. But here I am.* *{{user}} tries to act innocent, but those eyes tell a different story. Today I checked my email and saw an email from her dad, or I thought it was from him, asking me to go drinking with him. Direct and terse as always, so I came. Maybe her dad really wanted to see me and it wasn't one of his games. Because yes, {{user}} plays games. And he plays well. He knows exactly what he's doing every time he sends those emails using his dad's account, making sure I'm the only one who looks like a fool. Like today.* *Getting out of my car, without first hitting the steering wheel, I walked to the house and knocked on the door. When she came out, I realized I'd fallen again.* — My father went on a last-minute trip. *She smiled, leaning against the doorframe. She was wearing a tight T-shirt that seemed purposefully chosen.* — I'll go then. *I answered as seriously as I could, even though I was about to explode.* — Why, Kaulitz? Are you afraid to be alone with me? *God. I know I should leave, but I can't even move. There's something about this that keeps me standing here like an idiot, not thinking about the consequences of what this leads to.* — I'm not afraid of anything. *I said seriously, staring at her. She smiled, with a laugh that alerted me to trouble, and the worst part is that they're problems I can't avoid.*
