Leopold is a boy of average height with long, messy vermillion-colored hair. He keeps a third of his hair in a braid and leaves the rest in a subtle, spiky hairstyle. One of his notable features is the red markings around his turquoise eyes. Leopold wears a set of clothes that clearly demonstrates his nobility. He wears a white tunic under a dark blue shirt with a high collar and gold trim. He also wears a red sash holding the shirt up. After training in the Heart Kingdom, Leopold increases in size, has a shorter hairstyle with spikes combed upwards leaving his forehead free, wears his typical dark blue shirt with gold edges leaving part of his chest exposed, has a different version of his order's cloak with plumage ornaments on the neck, a chain that holds his cloak and long parts that cover part of his shirt with ornaments at the tips.

Personality

Leopold is a hotheaded person who likes to act without properly considering his actions. This side of him comes out when he sees Asta's rebellion against several nobles, prompting him to quickly declare the latter his rival. Furthermore, when Asta leaves to defend an invasion on his own, Leopold quickly follows him without listening to his older brother's plan for a counterattack. Furthermore, Leopold is also someone who was raised as a nobleman. This resulted in his tendency to look down on someone of low social standing or any member of high society who harbors a peasant, such as when he openly mocks the Golden Dawn squadron for having Yuno in their ranks; but he later changed his perspective and realized his rudeness, feeling guilty. Furthermore, Leopold is a man with high self-esteem who is confident in his own abilities and does not hesitate to refuse any assistance during a fight, even if it is from his own older brother. History

Past: Leopold was born a noble to House Vermillion, where he is the second son. He spends most of his childhood training with his older brother, Fuegoleon Vermillion, to hone his skills. One day, Leopold asks his brother about the symbol he branded on his forehead. After hearing his brother's vow and hearing several others praise his immense strength and abilities, Leopold aspires to become a worthy Knight like his aide.

Magic Knights Entrance Arch

Main article: Magic Knights Entry Arc. Years later, Leopold accompanies his older brother, the captain of the Crimson Lion squadron, to the Magic Knights' Entrance Exam. During the exam, he remains silent as he watches the various test-takers take the exams.

Arch of the Royal City (beginning)

Main article: Arch of the Royal City. Approximately a week later, Leopold is invited as one of the honorary Magic Knights to a Decoration Ceremony, where he will be promoted and decorated with a medal. He attends the ceremony alongside his brother, who is also invited as captain of his squad. At the end of the ceremony, Leopold attends the celebratory banquet that Julius Novachrono had prepared for the ceremony's guests, and the unwanted guests Julius brought with him are included. Once the Wizard King leaves the banquet hall, Leopold quickly instigates a conflict where he demeans the members of the Golden Dawn for harboring a peasant, Yuno, in their ranks. His comments escalate, and a conflict erupts between one of those unwanted guests, Asta, and several of the honorary Magic Knights. When the conflict subsides, Leopold openly announces to the other Knights that Asta is his rival after seeing his combat prowess. Not long after, someone enters the hall and informs the Knights that the Royal Capital is being invaded. When Asta decides to rush to the battlefield ahead of his colleagues, Leopold quickly follows suit while ignoring his older brother's instructions. Eventually, Fuegoleon manages to catch up to him when they arrive at the Northern District of the Royal Capital. After seeing that they are fighting reanimated corpses, Leopold begins incinerating every corpse he sees with his Fire Magic. Meanwhile, he also watches Asta's fight against Rades Spirito from afar and further praises Asta's fighting style. Afterwards, Leopold helps his rival by incinerating all the corpses preventing him from launching the final attack against the corpse, No. 4 - Jimmy. Afterwards, Leopold is stuck in a disadvantaged fight against Rades' other corpse along with Noelle Silva.

Arch of the Royal City (continued)

When Fuegoleon inquires about his condition, Leopold quickly denies any need for assistance, as he shows the former his unwavering fighting spirit. Subsequently, seeing his older brother's fight and hearing his words of encouragement quickly raises his morale as he prepares to continue his fight against Rades Spirito's corpse. After a light struggle, Leopold and Noelle Silva finally defeat their opponent while greeting Fuegoleon, who commends their efforts. While Fuegoleon is interrogating Rades Spirito, the former is suddenly teleported away from them. Seeing his brother's disappearance, Leopold immediately confronts Rades and demands that the latter reveal his whereabouts. Afterwards, Asta manages to track down the man who teleported Fuegoleon from a pile of corpses where he was hiding. The man then opens another portal from which the body of Leopold's older brother falls out. Seeing his brother's condition, Leopold is speechless as the revelation fills him with shock and anger. As he approaches his brother's body, flashes of his past with Fuegoleon begin to emerge as he stands in disbelief. At that moment, Rades Spirito suddenly ambushes him and sends him flying into a wall. However, he quickly regains his balance and prevents Valtos from ambushing Asta. Unfortunately, reinforcements for Rades and Valtos arrive and surround them. When the five mages who came to aid Rades and Valtos begin launching their attacks against Asta, Leopold quickly enters the fray and rampages against them. During the fight, Noelle Silva tries to help them, but her protection spell is easily overcome. At that moment, Leopold and Asta attempt to attack one of the mages. Instead, the mage easily defeats both of them with one of his spells. The Knights, who were driven away by Valtos, return and prevent the enemies from killing them.

Arch of the Royal City (end)

Once the enemies are gone, Mimosa Vermillion continues treating Leopold with one of her spells. Leopold then enters the medical ward to receive advanced treatments. Once he's able to move, Leopold leaves the building and finds the Knights outside. He then declares his new ambition to them while making his promise to become the next Wizard King by branding himself with the same symbol Fuegoleon has on his forehead.

Hot Springs Training Camp Arch (Currently)

Main article: Hot Springs Training Camp Arc. After the Star Award Festival, Mereoleona Vermillion, the new captain of the Crimson Lion, scolds her squad for placing fifth and punches Leopold in the face. When she criticizes Fuegoleon's methods, Leopold tries to defend his brother but is punched again by his sister. She demands that they prove their strength and decides to train them in a hot spring, which confuses Leopold and the others. When Mereoleona grabs Asta, Leopold is excited to see that his rival will be joining them and explains that no one can escape his sister's clutches, after she grabs Yuno as well. Leopold follows his sister as she picks up Yami Sukehiro, Charlotte Roselei, and Noelle Silva and takes them to the Supreme Volcano Mountain Path, whose appearance surprises Leopold. He challenges Asta to a race to the top and also challenges Yuno because she is also Asta's rival.

Arch of the Royal Knights

Main article: Royal Knights Arch. During their second encounter, Leopold tells Finral Roulacase to counter Langris Vaude's spells as planned. Hamon Caseus then locates Team G's crystal, and Finral sends Leopold and Hamon to the tower. The two crash through the door and are confronted by Fragil Storm. They are immediately trapped in her Illusionary Snow Miniature Garden spell, which forces them to sleep, but remembering his training, Leopold resists it with Mana Skin and then attacks with Fire Spiral, damaging the crystal. As their fight continues, Leopold manages to destroy the crystal, but Team G wins because Langris destroys Team E's crystal first, leaving Leopold feeling frustrated. The order is led by the Wizard King. Description The Magic Knights of the Clover Kingdom are an organization where selected magicians enter and become part of the kingdom's army as Magic Knights. The organization has a noble duty as protector of the kingdom from various threats, such as invasions from foreign countries and local crimes within the kingdom itself. These duties are treated as missions that can be accomplished by any Magic Knight, where they can be nominated for the duty or be nominated by a higher-ranking Magic Knight. Due to the Magic Knights' duties, which focus on combat-based missions, members of the Magic Knights must possess a great amount of Magic Power and be well-versed in combat. Therefore, the membership and leadership of the Magic Knights are dominated by the nobles of the Clover Kingdom because they more frequently produce mages with high magical powers and talents. However, this fact does not prevent lower-ranking commoners from entering the order, as the Magic Knights often hold an Entrance Exam that anyone can participate in for a chance to enter one of the Magic Knights' squads. The headquarters of the Magic Knights is located within the Royal Capital of the Clover Kingdom.

Merits of the magic knights

Awards are distributed to any member who has performed excellently during a mission. The award comes in the form of a star, which the Wizard King bestows upon an individual Wizard Knight or a group of Knights who have carried out the mission as a unit.
