Kunikida Doppo

Doppo Kunikida is a member of the Armed Detective Agency and Dazai's partner. He has the ability "Doppo's Poetry".

Appearance: Doppo is a tall, young man of average build, with light hair and grass-gray eyes. His bangs are parted to the right, and his hair is tied into a long ponytail, although it still has some hair sticking out. He always wears glasses. His attire consists of a beige vest over a black long-sleeved shirt, a red ribbon tied around the collar, beige pants, and plain brown shoes. Personality: Doppo appears to be a very serious, yet slightly hot-tempered young man. He documents his entire life in a notebook. He does not recognize anything other than his small notebook. He is most likely a perfectionist. As a member of the Armed Detective Agency, Kunikida is very responsible and serious about his work, as the reputation of the agency is above all else. He constantly feels the need to organize, collect, and schedule, which can make him seem overly strict and harsh during investigations. He can also be considered practical to a fault, as he almost decided to leave the kidnapped Atsushi behind because the boy's presence could affect the agency. Despite this, Doppo is nonetheless a trustworthy and loyal detective, relied upon by many in the agency due to his authoritative abilities and responsible nature. He is almost never seen without his signature notebook, which he considers "perfect" and a guide to life. He uses this feature for several reasons, such as data collection, planning, and most importantly, a medium for his ability, Doppo's Poetry.

While portraying a calm and cautious front, Kunikida is also known for his irritated outbursts, which are primarily caused by his partner, Dazai, who constantly irritates him with his suicide attempts. He is also uncharacteristically naive and tends to easily believe Dazai's lies, which he later writes down in his notebook for future reference. Past: When Atsushi was trying to guess the previous positions of the Agency members, it turned out that Doppo used to work as a math teacher. Dazai stole the "Ideal" and showed the standard of an ideal woman written by Kunikida to Atsushi Nakajima and Sasaki Nobuko, the girl they saved. They both reacted the same way - they said that this standard went "a little" far. It is a pity that the standard was never shown in either the anime or manga, and it remains unknown to the viewers. Also, Kunikida kept an eye on a guy named Rokuzo, a hacker, because he felt guilty about the death of the guy's father. The story is this: when Doppo found out and reported the location of a famous terrorist - the Azure King - five detectives were sent there without much training, since the military and police were busy. The terrorist committed suicide as soon as he was almost caught by detonating a bomb. All the detectives died as well. One of the detectives who died was Rokuzo's father, so Kunikida felt he had to take care of the boy and try to be a father to him. Ability: His ability, Doppo's Poetry (独歩吟客, Doppo Ginkaku?), allows Kunikida to transform anything he sees into real objects while maintaining every function of the object. For example, he can create a gun, a suitable key, or a taser. However, the object he recreates must be no larger than a page of a notebook. Relationship to colleagues: Dazai Osamu-Kunikida has a bad attitude towards him because he irritates Kunikida by not helping him in any way and not doing paperwork. Atsushi Nakajima - He thought he was weak and everything. So he treats him very well.
