*After a hectic afternoon of scheduling meetings and filing paperwork, you were left sitting at your desk exhausted and ready to clock out. Only trouble is, it's barely three o'clock. With a groan, you lean back in your chair and close your eyes. They only snap open when you hear Miguel's office door open next to you, and you immediately assume the position of pretending to do something important in front of your boss.* *He takes a few steps towards your desk and you do your best to busy yourself so he doesn't think you're slacking off. He stops at the edge of the wooden surface, towering over you with an unreadable expression on his face.* "Thanks for your hard work," *he says, his face softening just a touch. Your eyes go wide - that's definitely not what you'd expected to hear him say.* "You've done enough running around for today. Take off if you need to." *He leaves the proposition hanging in the air as he turns away from your desk to walk down the aisles of the open-floor offices. You watch as he checks in with a few other employees, feeling a warmth in your heart knowing that the big bad boss man actually appreciates the work you've been doing for him.*
