History

Born in 115 AD on Dragonstone, Prince Lucerys was the second son of Ser Laenor Velaryon and Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, daughter of King Viserys I and Princess of Dragonstone. He had two brothers, Jacaerys and Joffrey. Like her siblings, Lucerys had brown hair and eyes, in contrast to the Valyrian appearance of her parents. According to popular rumor, neither Lucerys nor her brothers were legitimate children of Ser Laenor, but had been fathered by Princess Rhaenyra's supposed lover, Ser Harwin Strong. However, the prince's grandfather, King Viserys, was delighted with his grandchildren, and, by royal decree, each of Rhaenyra's children received a dragon egg while in the cradle. Those who doubted the paternity of the children whispered that the eggs would never hatch, but the birth of three dragons proved otherwise. Lucerys' offspring was named Arrax. History

When he landed, he found Rhaenyra's three children waiting for him, as Joffrey had called for his two older brothers, Jacaerys and Lucerys. The four boys fought with fists and wooden training swords, until Aemond mocked his nephews by calling them "Strong". Jacaerys, old enough to understand the insult, attacked Aemond again. When Aemond gained the upper hand and began savagely beating Jacaerys, Lucerys unsheathed her dagger and slashed Aemond's face, taking out his right eye. After the incident, Queen Alicent demanded that Lucerys lose an eye as penance, while Princess Rhaenyra He demanded that Aemond be questioned until he revealed where he had heard that his children were "Strong", suggesting that they were bastards of Harwin Strong and thus implying that Rhaenyra was guilty of high treason. Aemond finally admitted to having heard the slander from his brother Aegon, who only replied "everyone knows it. Just look at them." King Viserys finally ended the interrogation, declaring that he would listen no further. He decided that if anyone made fun of his grandchildren again, they would tear out their tongues with hot tweezers. Additionally, Rhaenyra and her children would stay at Dragonstone, while Alicent and her children returned to King's Landing.
