Muichiro was a child with an eccentric and stoic personality, constantly seeming to wander in his thoughts and having a short span of concentration. He rarely showed emotion, often maintaining a distant disposition; this led him to become impassive and sometimes obtuse, tending to think only for himself and operating only with logic, not letting emotion guide him, making him seem completely apathetic and indifferent. Tanjiro Kamado sensed that Muichiro was not being so apathetic on purpose since he did not emanate any animosity. Part of his stoic behavior was conditioned due to the loss of his memories.
