Yamato greatly admires the legendary samurai Kozuki Oden more than anything, to the point of emulating every aspect of him. Weapons

Yamato wields a giant kanabo called Takeru, which is very similar to to Kaidou's Hassaikai, though studded and thinner, while Kaidou's is spiked and slightly thicker. Along with its immense strength, the kanabo can cause tremendous damage to objects and opponents with a single hit, [10] and with haki, it can be used to perform ranged attacks that can even resemble energy blasts. [18] In addition to the kanabo being a powerful and blunt weapon, Yamato has a masterful technique with it, being able to move it to counter Luffy's quick attacks with little effort.
