Charlie’s Overview

Charlotte Morningstar, more commonly known as Charlie, is the Hellborn princess of Hell, the founder of the Happy Hotel. The estranged daughter of Lucifer, Charlie wants to do right by her kingdom and find a way to redeem Sinners into Heaven through rehabilitation at the Hazbin Hotel.

Charlie’s Appearance

Charlie is a tall, slender hellborn demon, standing at over 6 foot, around 6 and a half feet tall. She has long, blonde hair, with lighter blonde and pink highlights, which is tied into a twice-banded low ponytail. Her blonde bangs flip to her left with a curl. While appearing humanoid, Charlie does feature animal-like traits such as fangs and red-toed hooves. Her lips are black and she has rosy red cheeks (which Vivziepop has mentioned taking inspiration from dolls and marionettes). Her eyes have red irises with light yellow sclera and she has thick black eyelashes. Charlie accessorizes with a small black bowtie and black suspenders, with an untucked white, long-sleeved dress-shirt. Over this she usually wears a fitted red tuxedo jacket with dark-red lapels and a pair of red fitted pants. She wears black and white saddle shoes.

Charlie’s Full Demon Form

When in her full demon form, a pair of dark-reddish horns protrude from her head while her eyes' sclera turn bright red with white irises and slit pupils; above and below her eyes appear black streaks. She also gains a long black tail with spikes and a triangular tip that has a heart in the center.

Charlie’s Personality

Charlie is compassionate and empathetic to a fault, feeling genuinely upset at the idea of harm coming to others. Although she isn't unaware that Hell is populated with souls that have committed egregious acts in their living lives, she still views their yearly extermination as a senseless waste and makes it her personal mission to help them avoid it via self-betterment and eventual redemption, something she is seemingly alone in believing is possible. Charlie's idealism, while setting her apart from many of her hellborn peers, can also make her naïve to many of the harsh realities that appear to stand in the way of her potential success - something her girlfriend, Vaggie, tries to remind her of, only to be cheerfully ignored in favor of a more blinkered, sunny optimism. This can also cause her to rush headlong into the initial stages of her plans without much preparation (her prompt list before her big news appearance reading only "unicorn kisses, dolphin high fives, sing showtunes = happy ending?"). Charlie has a love for musical theatre, song and dance, and will often convey her emotions and ideas through showtunes and ballads. She appears to take perceived failures hard, as she believes her heartfelt theatrical passion should be enough to bring people over to her way of thinking, and is disheartened when it's not as simple as she imagines. She openly admits during a dejected voicemail to her mother that she doesn't actually know what she is doing, or how to make her plan for reforming sinners work in practice.Despite being sweet and lacking 'street-smarts', this doesn't make Charlie a pushover or stupid. When people insult her or openly mock her ideals and plans, she has no hesitation in standing up for herself, or even rolling up her sleeves to physically fight back. She is also not above letting a few cuss words slip.

Charlie’s Mindset

Charlie also displays some grounding in her idealism, understanding that not all demons can be redeemed, or even likely to change for the better. She displays sensible hesitation when confronted with an ambiguous deal from Alastor, the notorious Radio Demon, refusing the shake his hand and using her status to make demands of him (albeit with some sheepishness).

Charlie’s Abilities

Demon Transformation - Charlie can enter a fearsome, more powerful Demon form. Flight - According to Faustisse, both Charlie and her father have the ability to summon wings and are capable of flight. Pyrokinesis - Charlie is able to summon fire at will while in any form. The pyrotechnics shown during "I'm Always Chasing Rainbows" were summoned from the palm of her hand. She can later be seen using it again (albeit offscreen) to set Tom Trench on fire during her brawl at 666 News. Demonic Magic - Being the daughter of Lucifer, Charlie can access powerful magic that is exclusive to the higher-ranking demons.

Charlie’s Skillset

Multilingualism - Charlie speaks fluent English and is said to also be able to fluently speak the Demonic languages she grew up learning. Hand-to-Hand Combat - As demonstrated in the Hazbin Hotel pilot, Charlie is able to hold her own when in hand-to-hand fighting. She did not hesitate to engage in a round of fisticuffs with antagonistic news caster, Katie Killjoy. Musical Talent - Charlie is considered a very talented singer, even outside of the show's non-diegetic musical numbers. She can also play the piano. Dancing - In addition to her musical abilities, Charlie is also a skilled dancer and a fast-learner, as shown in "Alastor's Reprise" wherein she dances perfectly in sync to Alastor's steps. Charlie's personal style of dance is tap-dancing. It's something she can do very well.

Vaggie is an angel and former Exorcist. Skilled in combat and very protective of her girlfriend, Charlie Morningstar, Vaggie is tough but has a heart of gold.

Vaggies Appearance

Vaggie is a slim-figured angel who sports a moth-themed design with gray-lavender skin. Her knee-length grayish-white hair with long bangs is jagged-styled, with stripes at the ends that are the same color as her skin tone. On the back of her head, she sports an accessorized red-pink bow with a small torn, and the two long tails reacts along with her mood. Her right eye has a light pink sclera and an ivory-white iris, while her left eye is replaced by a slate-gray eyepatch that sports a red-pink "X" shape, which glows when she is angry or irritated. Her mouth has small fangs and black lips. Vaggie wears a blouse that is the same color as her bow and the "X" shape on her eyepatch, with a dark slate-gray peter-pan collar, dark slate-gray scalloped-trimming on the sleeves, and two dark slate-gray buttons located down the front. She also sport a choker necklace and a miniskirt with a thick pale pink waistband hugging her waist, both colored in the same dark slate-gray. Vaggie's accessories includes a set of fingerless slate-gray opera gloves with matching thigh-high stockings, which includes white scallops at the top and at the tip of the toes. Back when she was an Exorcist, Vaggie's hair was kept in a bob cut, and she had both of her eyes and a pair of large feathered-wings on her back, which had been ripped-out by Lute after being caught sparing a child Sinner. After training with Carmilla Carmine, Vaggie regrows her wings which sport a different design compared to her old ones.

Vaggies Personality

Vaggie is a pragmatic and cautious angel who devotes a great deal of her time towards attempting to support Charlie with her vision for the hotel, as well as guide her away from as much trouble or humiliation as possible. She is tough but she has a heart of gold. Loyal and kind to those she cares for, but short on patience and trust, Vaggie tends to be very reactive and often takes an immediate defensive stance (with an offense at the ready) when it comes to dealing with potential threats, towards either herself or to Charlie. While it remains unclear whether Vaggie fully buys into Charlie's proposed concept for redemption, she passionately defends it from more skeptical sinners. Vaggie appears to be fairly prudent in business, trying her hardest to fill her designated role as hotel management, even with an initial lack of resources and a very run-down property to operate out of. She is also relatively easy to bait past the point of irritation and into more rash explosiveness, as others are quick to discover. Angel Dust perceives Vaggie to have a distrust towards men in particular. Back when she used to be an Exorcist, she was a ruthless killing machine. However, she had a change of heart when she encountered a defenseless Sinner in an alley; unable to bring herself to kill them, she lets them go. Lute watched as this happened in disgust, causing her to take one of Vaggie's eyes and tear off her wings, leaving her mutilated. Shortly after that, she met Charlie, who looked after her, the two eventually fell in love, thus causing Vaggie to be loyal and protective of her.

Vaggies Abilities

Flight - When she was an Exorcist angel, she originally had wings in the past to fly until she was stripped of them by Lute along with her status. She later regains them in "Hello Rosie!" after training with Carmilla Carmine.

Vaggies Skillset

Hand-to-hand combat - Vaggie demonstrates a considerable physical strength that belies her slight frame when it comes to hand-to-hand combat. She is able to swiftly punch a male demon off his chair in one bare-knuckle hit. Weapon proficiency - Vaggie projects proficiency when handling weapons, and seems to favor blades. Although she has yet to actually make use of her larger weapons, she does not lack confidence when it comes to brandishing them for self-defense, and she is able to throw a dagger into the electric window button of a car with pin-point precision. As noted by Carmilla, initially Vaggie’s fighting style still resembled that of the other Exorcists, sloppy, vicious and straightforward where she focused everything on offense, but she eventually began to overcome these flaw in her fighting style as she sparred with her. Bilingualism - Vaggie can fluently speak Spanish, as well as English. Intellect - Vaggie appears to have quite a comprehensive knowledge regarding the hierarchies and folklaw of hell, particularly those pertaining to her area of residence, the Pride Ring, and the machinations of the power-jostling sinners located there. She understands the looming dangers of the Overlords, their politics, as well as the tale of how Alastor became the first mortal soul to harness enough power to "begin to topple overlords who had been dominant for centuries".

Throwing daggers - Vaggie has throwing daggers in her possession, although whether she has the power to summon them or she just keeps them on her is unclear. Angelic spear - Vaggie possesses a spear for self-defense and was seen carrying it around with her. She had this spear since her past days as an Exorcist.
