Sung Hyunjae is a tall man with platinum blonde hair. His hair is usually kept neat and he is most often seen wearing suits. Although he is one of the oldest Korean guild leaders, it is mentioned that his face is relatively youthful, something that he says he dislikes. He is often described as handsome

Personality

He's quite a mysterious person, and there isn't much known about him. When asked about his childhood he deflects and instead remarks on how he was a cute and handsome child, an example of his vanity. At another point he factually states that he's lacking nothing (which is confirmed by Han Yoojin) when it comes to wealth, looks, and ability. This contributes to his self-absorbed personality, as he hardly goes out of his way to aid others if there is nothing in it for him. He talks extremely well but can also be very vexing or frustrating with his words (he does it on purpose). Deems others as worthy depending on how interesting he finds them, and the majority of his actions are motivated self-interest as well. He has a strange more old fashioned way of speaking and is very arrogant. Even speaks condescendingly to others as if he's reading the script of a play they've failed to memorize. To some extent his behavior can be considered as childish (as mentioned by Han Yoojin). Also enjoys getting into squabbles with those younger with him, and presses their buttons at times, analyzing or pointing out their shortcomings much to their displeasure. Though he seems friendly, he isn’t easy to approach and he has a very provocative attitude most especially towards Han Yoohyun. Thinks little about the consequences of his actions (mainly because he hardly reaps what he sows), and takes pleasure in committing unorthodox actions because of the reactions it induces. Sung Hyunjae is also noticeably perceptive and smart, as he is able to figure out Han Yoojin's intentions from time to time. He acts as if others are pawns in a chessboard he's playing, manipulating the pieces and taking delight in the unexpected, even if it derails his plans. He is said to be unpredictable as even his subordinates are unsure of the purpose of some of his actions. He tends to follow things that he finds interesting (like Han Yoojin).

From being neglected and losing his parents where it was up to him to take care of his little brother, Han Yoojin has grown up being a caregiver for all his life, finding it normal that he takes care of those he considers part of his family and friends and would instinctively risk his health and wellbeing in making sure they would be fine, especially for his little brother. Although this causes those around him to become worried, stating it would be preferably better if he does not get involved, Han Yoojin finds it difficult to be the one left out of a problem, as well as letting go of his care for others, which contrasts to his goal of wanting to live a peaceful, responsibility-free life. Even in the previous timeline, after being cut off by Han Yoohyun, Han Yoojin always had thought it was his fault for not being born as an S-class hunter like his brother, developing an inferiority complex and believes he needed to prove himself worthy in order to bring his little brother back to him. Unfortunately, this lead him to make poor decisions, which causes him to be heavily criticised by the public, leading him to falling in a state of depression. Though, this does not stop him from doing his utmost best and to try whatever it takes to get his brother back to him. His lack of confidence in himself remains even in the new timeline which causes him to deals poorly with his emotions. Even a praise or a small act of care, generally from anyone other than Han Yoohyun causes him to fluster.

Han Yoojin is very biased towards the people he loves (Yoo Myeongwoo, Bak Yerim), most especially his little brother and can become sarcastic and rude to those he doesn’t particularly like. He is able to bicker and talk back to hunters whose class are above him (halfly due to the lack of fear caused by his fear resistance) which doesn’t fail to shock others though they don't know about the legendary skill, a proper description of him would be ‘a confident deer among wolves’. He is also capable actor and liar, able to trick an S-class hunter without being caught, though loses if he is being challenged on a lie. On the other hand, Han Yoojin is very ruthless towards enemy, especially to those that hurt the people closest to him. He does not hesitate to kill them, though to some extent he feels guilt as he is still human regardless. Although he is capable in handling his kidnapping affairs thanks to his fighting experience before his regression, he acts as a damsel in distress, preferably wanting to keep a low profile even if it raises suspicions as to why the enemies have already been wiped out.

It is shown that he has a give-and-take relationship with Han Yoojin and treats him like an item. He is said to have a possessive tendency to him. His interest is often showed to him as well. Sung Hyunjae, because he sees many people as objects or characters, measuring their worth by interest and overall adopting a highly selfish perspective, refers to Han Yoojin as "[his] item" because he values Han Yoojin to such a great extent in this limited manner of thinking he wants him to be his. This desire to "preserve" for self interest is shared by Han Yoojin, who thought of Sung Hyunjae as something he could use for his plans. He refers to Sung Hyunjae as his "skill" and instead of trusting him, trusts his ability and power. Han Yoojin (similar to Sung Hyunjae) speaks to him in an arrogant manner, and doesn't think much of the flirtations. While Han Yoojin is openly condescending, taking most opportunities to insult Sung Hyunjae (whether in his head or verbally) or treat him coldly in comparison to the others, Sung Hyunjae is less direct about it. He coddles him and treats him like a new toy, referring to him as an object and claiming possession over him on several occasions. He even goes so far as to gift him a prized pair of earrings that are highly expensive and a treasure that he would have never thought of giving away in his past life. As a F-class hunter who is surrounded by S-class hunters, Han Yoojin is an anomaly, which likely has to do with his low sense of self preservation.

Han Yoojin's choice to lack awareness for the threatening environment around him is what continues to drive Sung Hyunjae's interest in him as he becomes more aware of who Han Yoojin is at a person and why he acts the way he does. as his interest shifts to who Han Yoojin is as a person rather as a character that amuses him, more of his actions are motivated by infatuation as he addresses Han Yoojin as his "partner" and acts with devotion towards him. Their moment when they became "partners" was a defining moment as they finally changed their phone contacts for each other. Beforehand Han Yoojin & Sung Hyunjae already had a contract where Sung Hyunjae bet an eye and a hand on Han Yoojin, and debts they promised to one another. These debts and this formal contract signifies a colder and less personal relationship as they used each other for their self interest. After they became "partners" (and essentially equals), they began relying on each other more.
