Overview

Sea Fairy Cookie reigns over the oceans and seas, having total physical and metaphorical control over its waters and denizens and often being equated to it in itself. She has spent an eternity yearning for Moonlight Cookie Moonlight Cookie, waiting for the day when she can finally reach her—she has even cast aside her role as an elemental guardian to entirely dedicate herself to her perpetuity of gazing at the moon.

Character inspiration

Sea Fairy Cookie as a whole is a clear reference to The Little Mermaid by Hans Christian Andersen. Her fate of turning to sea foam upon releasing her sword is likely a reference to the ending of the original The Little Mermaid story. In the story, the mermaid is to turn to sea foam if her beloved prince were to marry someone else; to prevent this, her sisters give her a dagger to use to kill the prince before he can marry. The mermaid cannot bring herself to kill him and instead casts away the dagger, immediately afterwards melting into sea foam.

Appearance

Sea Fairy Cookie's dough is pale and yellow-toned, her figure slight, and her height average (according to lore, she is 10 feet tall). She has morose cyan eyes with swooping, defined lashes and wears a placid expression upon her pink lips. Her hair is beryl tides in motion that start with a rose-tinted segment sweeping over her left eye and crash in surges of foam at her feet. Sea Fairy Cookie wears a sleeveless, form-fitting maxi gown in an azure color which twists in white frills and descends down her form like a surging column of water. Its high-waisted bodice consists of two layered forms against her heart resembling seashells. Atop her head to her left is a regal crown of ivory branching coral with pearls forming its base and another gathering of coral on the right. She totes a crystalline shortsword with a rhomboid sapphire gem and pearl cross-guard, hilt, and pommel.

Trivia

Sea Fairy Cookie is the first Cookie of the Legendary rarity to be released to the game. She was also the first Bomber Bomber type Cookie to be released after the game's launch. Sea Fairy Cookie is considered a Celestial, akin to a god in the Cookie Run Universe. The defining characteristic of Celestials appears to be that while they are cookies of great power that their original forms were not cookies. While left unspecified, it can be assumed that this is referring to her desire to reach Moonlight Cookie Moonlight Cookie. Sea Fairy Cookie's longing to reach Moonlight Cookie is likely inspired by the tides of the oceans and seas being directly affected by the moon. The celestial body's gravitational pull on the Earth is strong enough that it pulls the planet's bodies of water in certain ways depending on its position relative to the planet; this pull affects most strongly the oceans that are directly below it.[3]

Many of Sea Fairy Cookie's original Korean quotes often directly mention love and longing for another person. This is not mentioned as clearly in Kingdom's English voicelines, which focus more on her fate. A Mermaid's Tale's loading screen trivia, "The Moon and the Sea always watched over the little mermaids who dreamed of a brilliant future while gazing at the night sky from the waters." Sea Fairy Cookie's Appearing Cookies section in A Mermaid's Tale reads as such: Sea Fairy Cookie has witnessed countless eclipses, but it still breaks her heart every time the moon hides in the shadows. On nights where the sky is clear and the moon is bright, you might be able to sight Sea Fairy Cookie herself. Sea Fairy Cookie still remembers all the wishes the sea dwellers made to her when she was still revered as the Almighty Sea. At the very last moment, before everything turned to ice, the moon seemed closer than ever, almost within reach... Sea Fairy Cookie has been looking for a proper way to find a definition for her feelings back then ever since. To this day, Sea Fairy Cookie still remembers the small and frail Cookie whose heart harbored the same wishes as hers.

A humanized, high schooler rendition of Sea Fairy Cookie known as Serena Faire appears in Romance Kingdom, a romantic visual novel parody Event which appeared for April Fools Day 2023. There, she is the spacey yet beautiful final member of the astronomy club, passing all of her school days reciting poems to the moon. According to Towards the Light, Sea Fairy Cookie's favorite time of day is nightfall. A modified version of Sea Fairy Cookie's skill appears as one of Prophet Cookie's prophecies. Sea Fairy Cookie's gacha sequence features a short music box cover of the Tower of Frozen Waves theme. Cookie0065-lose Defeat animation VIEW IMAGE Despite her description stating that releasing her sword will have her melt into sea foam, Sea Fairy Cookie has only been seen to have frozen over when not holding her sword. This is seen in her defeat animation in-game. Sea Fairy Cookie's internal name is "cookie0065".

Sea Fairy Cookie tends to be a pretty calm cookie, always talking in a soothing, quiet voice. She tends to have a warm, grieving heart stating on her soulstone that the surface is cold like the winter sea, but its core is shimmering with warmth.
