In the original lore or what I understand spirit was a boy that girlfriend dated for a while but DD's stupid bastard would put him in and lock him up the virtual Game, leaving his soul condemned in the Game, in week 6 spirit warns boyfriend about girlfriend and that she didn't even have good intentions but obviously he didn't believe anything and so starting the song thorns, in reimagined, they add powers with whom he defeats glitch boyfriend in the rewind line and the corrupted ones, and in the alternate timeline, he uses corruption to his advantage to confront anyone who crosses his path

resurgence boyfriend (Evil spirit bf or corrupted spirit boyfriend)

In that line, spirit takes control of the body and he does not ignore what happened in the past with DD and he seeks revenge at all costs by going to DD and infecting him at any cost, In the song Resurgence is halfway corrupted, becoming more powerful and dangerous, ending with him completely corrupting DD, in the contimumm someone sends him to the line where Wicked Boyfriend is and Resurgence Boyfriend would emerge victorious, absorbing the glitch boyfriend of there and becoming something more powerful
