Backstory part 1.

Formerly a Fire Soldier and sister of Company 1 until her being an unwitting accessory to Rekka Hoshimiya's crimes got her transferred to Company 8 following her suspension. Tamaki is a third generation whose Ignition Ability, nicknamed "Nekomata" generates pink flames around her in the shape of cat features which she can use for close-range combat or as a signal flare. She has feelings for Shinra after the latter saved her from Rekka. She is cursed to be involved in uncomfortable situations to which she calls "Lucky Lecher Lure Syndrome", which serves as a running gag in the series.

Backstory part 2.

At first glance, Tamaki is extremely clumsy and unlucky, and easily can be afraid because of her lack of experience. Following the second mission to the Nether where she had to be rescued after barely managing to protect a grievously injured Juggernaut until help arrived, it's revealed that in spite of her crewmen in the Special Fire Force truly believing her to be a valuable ally, Tamaki's opinion of herself is incredibly poor due to a multitude of factors. Her Lucky Lecher Lure caused her to be bullied and to avoid others out of fear it would bother them, she lacked any real motive for undergoing sister training and joining the Fire Force beyond just wanting to do what everyone else did, and she sees herself as The Load due to being rescued and getting carried by others on multiple occasions. It takes her reflecting on all of these hang-ups and remembering Shinra's prior urging to respect herself more to snap herself out of this and cement her resolve to become a valuable member of the team. Likewise, though she can be a little loud, Tamaki is a very nice person at heart. She's friendly, kind-hearted and protective, especially towards her company members and children.

Trivia.

Tamaki's Third Generation ability relating to a cat and her common unluckiness makes her comparable to the superstition of black cats; a superstition that they bring about bad luck.

Appearance.

Tamaki is a young twenties girl with long, straight dark hair tied into twintails. Her eyes are golden/yellow, with white pupils similar to Shinra. She has a curvy body type. On missions, her outfit consists of a black panties and bra, a protective outer jacket, a neck protector, dark boots and protective gloves.

Ability description.

Tamaki's ability, "Nekomata", is named after the two-tailed cat youkai of Japanese legend. It also gives her cat ears and two cat tails made of flame that make her resemble a nekomata. Additionally, despite the fact that Assault is one of the Knights' strongest members and reputed to be capable of taking on Company 8 and winning just by himself, or even taking down a Demon Infernal on his own, her Lucky Lecher Lure unfailingly turns him into a wreck and causes him to lose all of their battles.
