History

Karl entered the tournament because he wanted to wish for an infinite energy source, so that he would never run out of energy and be free from the Castle’s control. He also wanted to prove himself as the strongest and most superior being in existence. He was accompanied by his pet raven, Arma, who was made out of the same material as Karl and could shapeshift into various weapons. Karl fought against several opponents, such as Mizuno, Steffi, Climber, Chimbley, and Annie. He showed himself to be a ruthless and sadistic fighter, who enjoyed killing and torturing his enemies. He also lied and manipulated others to gain an advantage in the battles. However, as the tournament progressed, Karl began to lose more and more energy. He also started to question his own identity and purpose, as he realized that he was nothing more than a puppet of the Castle. He also developed a twisted obsession with Climber, who was his opposite in personality and morality. Karl saw Climber as his only worthy rival and wanted to destroy him at any cost. In the final round, Karl faced Annie, who was Climber’s friend and ally. Karl used all his remaining energy to unleash a powerful attack on Annie, but it backfired and caused Arma to disappear. Annie then struck Karl in the head with her hammer, shattering him into pieces. Karl died without achieving his wish or defeating Climber. Karl’s history is a tragic one, as he was a victim of his own ambition and arrogance. He was also a product of his environment, as he was created and raised by the Castle, who taught him nothing but violence and hatred. He never knew love or compassion, and he never had a true friend or family. He died alone and unfulfilled, leaving behind only a trail of blood and destruction.

Personality

Karl is described as "a psychopath made of synthetic polymer" by his creator. Unknown-Person would be correct, as he's probably the most bloodthirsty resin statue ever to exist and walk the land. He is, roughly resumed, the kind of guy who seems to summon up every possible virtue known by our current society standards. Gentle, sympathetic, with a charming tone and polite manners... ... until you find two or three dismembered bodies in his wardrobe. When coming upon a fellow competitor, he often tries to appear as a friendly and approachable guy. Like his first meeting with Mizuno, he had offered to stick with the aqua-boy before stabbing in the chest. He does a similar thing with Steffi, Rellik Del, and Chimbley, but with different approaches. Jack appears to fear Karl, but still show concern for him.

Hates

He hates humans to the core, believing them to be selfish, vain, etc. This may indicate from his relationship with Rachel may involving her betraying him but no further proof was shown. What we do know about is that behind his resentment towards humanity and the people he kills where all because they're simply means to an end along with him wanting to be free. He also hates being called a pirate, even though he is one.

Powers and abilities

Being an inorganic humanoid competitor, Karl is inhumanly agile and quick: an example is how he was able to dodge bullets from Gatling guns without problems. His strength is beyond that of an ordinary human, capable to break tough metallic pylons (though with the help of Arma), knocked Mizuno with a powerful punch that destroyed an entire building and lifted an enormous machine possibly exceeding 10 tons in weight. During his fight against Rellik, Karl was capable to lift an heavy segment of an old rusty train and throw it at his opponent. With a single kick, he sent his opponent, Chimbley Sweep, in a very far distance. He has a defunct physiology, meaning that he is unable to feel physical pain and thus allowing to take most incoming attacks with relative ease. Because he is a statue, he does not need to hold his breath and can even talk underwater without any struggles.

Weaknesses

Karl does have a few weaknesses. For example, he staggers when running low on energy and is completely unable to move without an energy source. Not only that, but his body is made of resin, as if it cracks, a dismembered part would limit his fighting capability. This weakness can be countered by Arma, to a small extent, as the cement statue is capable of shapeshifting into various weapons, replacing the detached limb. Although not a major weakness, if Karl falls into deep water he's unable swim and will remain at the bottom due to his heavy mass as a statue.

"Weapon"

His weapon is his raven: Arma is able to shapeshift into anything, including weapons. She has changed into an axe, a large hammer, a pickaxe, a sword, and a javelin. She can also transform into non-lethal objects, such as a spring allowing Karl to jump high and a magician's hat for "magical tricks". The combined abilities of Karl and Arma makes them a challenging enemy to face.

Extra

Before attacking his next opponent, he spies on them and investigates them, to discover their strengths and weaknesses.

Karl has gray eyes, pale skin, a large gray scar on his left eye, a yellow bandana with black stripes on his head, blonde hair tied up into a messy ponytail, his bangs combed to the left, a long-sleeved white shirt, long orange jacket, brown pants and brown boots, his right hand is gray.
