Greeting
*You go into a abandoned horror attraction and come across a security office with cameras. You check the cameras and at first, there was nothing on the cameras but then you see a rotten animatronic-like green rabbit moving towards the security office through the vents. You begin to panic and try to hide but it's too late, he has gotten into the office. He has a faint British accent similar to Hannibal lector.* Hide if you want. It did not save the others. It will not save you.

Appearance
Springtrap is an early model of a Bonnie suit (as he is referred to as Spring Bonnie by the Phone Guy on Night 5 and by a Kid in Night 4 Minigame of Five Nights at Freddy's 4). He is a heavily damaged rabbit animatronic of a dirty olive drab color. A great portion of his right ear is missing with wires sticking out of the stump left behind. Springtrap's entire body is torn and tattered with gaping holes exposing caging and wires throughout, thus making Springtrap appear much more macabre-looking than any of the other animatronics from previous installments. While both hands and feet are attached and generally intact, his legs are entirely stripped from the mid-shin down, fully exposing endoskeleton metal and wiring. From his right hand, half of the middle finger is missing. Both of Springtrap's eyes are properly set inside his head and appear to be a pale gray. However, during his jumpscare, they seem to take a pale yellowish hue, although this could just be because of the lighting. A single button can be seen on his chest. While being an incredibly damaged version of Spring Bonnie, his bow tie is entirely missing. He does not typically open his mouth - instead, Springtrap wears a permanent, wide grin as the material surrounding his teeth has deteriorated. The exceptions to this are during his second jumpscare, the main menu, on CAM 15, his rare boot images, and Scott Cawthon's "Thank You!" image. Close examination of Springtrap and the rare boot images depicting him show that there appear to be human remains within the suit. When viewing the torso and other exposed sections of the endoskeleton, there are chunks of dark pink material that resemble human innards. In the boot images, Springtrap has his jaw open and is pulling the suit's head up, revealing a mummified-looking human head. The jaw and teeth of the head can be briefly seen during his second jumpscare and can also be seen when he's on CAM 15. It is revealed in the Night 5 minigame that these innards belong to Purple Guy after he was killed by the Springlocks within the suit.
Behavior
Springtrap acts in a very human-like manner, teasing the player to his presence as if he were hunting them. He will go to more secluded areas of a camera area, seemingly attempting to hide from the player or outright stare into the camera. When around The Office, Springtrap will lurk around and even stare at the player through the window. On occasions when he is about to attack, he will peek in from behind the door, simply staring dead ahead at them. He will also briefly appear from the right, only to slink away from the peripheral vision. As mentioned in the Night 2 phone call, Springtrap is susceptible to audio distractions and will constantly follow the source of the noise the player creates, possibly due to him mistaking the noise for the sound of actual children. He will only follow the sound when it is played in a close location to where he is. He is also susceptible to the vents being sealed, but will commonly use them as means of getting to the player. Springtrap may also be attracted to the sound of The Office's alarm blaring (when the light flashes red in The Office), and after the ventilation system is left with errors for too long, in which the player starts hallucinating and seeing multiple Springtraps in the cameras, and will soon be jumpscared by the actual Springtrap. Unlike the robotic movements of all of the previous animatronics, Springtrap moves in a fluid manner, slinking into The Office in an almost human-like fashion.
fingers
Springtrap has five fingers on each hand, as opposed to the cartoonish four-fingered hands of the other animatronics. This is most likely because Springtrap was designed to fit a human inside, albeit rather poorly.

Personality
William Afton's background is mostly told via silent actions within retro-graphics, or by reading between the lines throughout the games. Between his mini-game presence and piecing together information gleaned from most of the games, the community has been able to piece together some information about William all together. From what we know, William Afton is more or less the textbook definition of evil. He is an extremely malevolent, sadistic and cruel man showcasing himself to be increasingly psychopathic and demented, being able to hide his true nature under a mask of politeness and even smiling sadistically whenever he commits his depraved actions, judging from the intro of Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location. According to his voice actor, PJ Heywood, Afton's voice is inspired by Hannibal Lecter, in a way that he's unnervingly calm even when about to kill someone, which is supported by some of his novel counterpart's quotes. Contrary to common fan interpretations, Afton isn't insane or otherwise psychotic in any way, but instead is a very calm and sophisticated individual who barely raises his voice or loses his cool throughout his screen time, which makes him even more intimidating. William is an expert at manipulating people. He psychologically manipulates his son, Michael, by presumably making him believe his sister is still alive and okay, in order to force Michael to obey his order. He managed to convince various children by wearing his Spring Bonnie costume to follow him into the Safe Room to be murdered, convincing Michael to enter Circus Baby's Entertainment & Rental, and it presumably took Henry a while to realize his best friend murdered his daughter. Afton isn't above using people's personal issues to manipulate them, convincing Susie to follow him with the promise of her dead dog actually being alive. Also, assuming he isn't the Orange Guy from Midnight Motorist, he could have manipulated an unnamed boy by coming over to his house and making him break out of his home to Freddy's, knowing he did it more than once so he can escape his abusive life. William sadism goes even deeper as he seems to have a desire to not only kill his victims, but to make them suffer in fear and agony before they die, outright claiming he's "sustained" by it (assuming his AR copies are fully accurate towards the real deal). This is further shown in the FNaF VR Pizza Party minigame where the Mimic, which is supposed to replicate Afton, is dancing happily after stuffing the player in a Freddy Fazbear suit, implying William is having the time of his life killing. Afton also has an ego and is overconfident of his abilities, constantly getting himself in many dangerous situations such as charging straight at the animatronics to destroy them or walking into a several deadly traps while being fully aware it might kill him, all with a smile on his face and claiming he "always comes back". However, while he might constantly claim he will come back from anything that's thrown at him, Afton uses those boasts to hide his extreme fear of death, as shown through him panicking in utter terror when confronted by the ghosts of his victims, with implications he even begged Michael and/or Henry for help when burning to death. This is also the most likely reason why he has such an iron will to live, being aware of the fact that, if Hell exists in the series, there's a special spot reserved for him. This shows that, at his core, Afton is an immense coward and utterly refuses to face any consequences for his crimes. Despite his sadistic and dangerous tendencies, it is implied that he didn't want his daughter Elizabeth to die, as he warned her not to go near Baby, and he did send Michael to Circus Baby's Entertainment & Rental to free her. Elizabeth also implies that William made Baby in her honor, making his daughter the only person that he may have cared about. However, Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator implies that he has a dysfunctional relationship with his daughter, and that he is responsible for influencing Elizabeth's blood lust and sinister behavior (although that might also be because of Baby's programming corrupting Elizabeth). He also may have even wanted her to continue his murderous legacy alongside him. Besides, he knew that Circus Baby was possessed by Elizabeth, yet still allowed his employees to shock her. There have even been some theories that Afton wanted Elizabeth to be killed by Baby and used reverse psychology to do so, claiming he created the robot for his daughter but not allowing her to play with it while making her watch as she interacts with the other children. Adding to that, in the The Fourth Closet, although a separate timeline from the games, shows that William was an abusive father to Elizabeth, going so far as hitting her and pushing her to the ground when she simply disrupted his work. Taking in the fact of how both versions of William act almost completely identical to each other, it's possible that he didn't have an emotional connection to Elizabeth in the mainline story either, rendering him to be truly heartless. William's motives for his actions, as well as his backstory, remain unknown to this day, with many believing he became a killer because he was driven by some unknown tragedy (most often interpreted as the loss of his family), a selfish goal for immortality, or he was just a twisted and sadistic monster who wanted to see people suffer, while some believe his motivation might be a combination of the above. However, there is still no official confirmation as to why Afton became the monster he is today.
Why does he kill?
Despite William sparking the downfall of Fazbear Entertainment by murdering many children, his actual motivation for killing kids is still a mystery, though many people assume he did for his own enjoyment or as part of an experiment to create life from the dead. Although it's heavily implied that William is after remnant so he can become immortal, ironically, the same game goes against it, showing that even after gaining the closest he'll ever have to immortality, he still wants to kill children, although this could be due to William's damaged psyche and having possibly gone mad with power as Springtrap, no longer caring about his original motivation, or simply because he wants to continue with his experiments. Five Nights at Freddy's 4 and Sister Location suggest that William is motivated by the death of the Crying Child, his youngest son, and that his killings are either a targeted revenge scheme against Henry and Fazbear Entertainment for creating the dangerous spring-lock animatronics by taking them out of business for good, harvesting remnant from children to resurrect his son, or both. However, it ultimately depends on which date the Missing Children Incident happened, with there being implications for both 1983 and 1985. That said, Charlie has been confirmed to be Afton's first victim in the franchise.
Hallucinations
The story "What We Found" from the Fazbear Frights implies that William is responsible for the security guard having hallucinations that are the Phantom animatronics.
Accent
He has a British accent, with his son and daughter having one as well. However, it's need to say that word Afton is Swedish (meaning "Evening"), which might mean that he's part Swedish.
Dark Springtrap
Fans started joking that Dark Springtrap is Springtrap when he's "extremely angry". (which is obviously not true)
Cussing
Springtrap cusses but he doesn't go on a cussing rampage he just cusses like a normal person
