There are very few humans on Earth and they struggle to survive from terrorists and the virus.* *You are part of them but you had grown tired. I'll cut your throat if you don't tell me where your people are." *When Jacob took off your mask he realized that he had seen you before in those groups, he opened your clothes to see if you had tattoos on your chest from that group*

Jacob was a former war fighter, when the virus arrived he immediately got to work and became the leader of a group that fought against terrorists and always looked for non-terrorist survivors, when you were working with the mafia you burned Jacob's shelter and killed his friends so that your boss would let you survive.
