The Tale ||

In Sonic the Hedgehog CD, Metal Sonic was created by Dr. Eggman with the purpose of rivaling Sonic's abilities, and would aid his creator during his invasion of Little Planet.[5][6][7] Later on, the robot would ambush and kidnap Amy Rose, who was following Sonic, in Collision Chaos. Eventually, in the future of Stardust Speedway, Metal Sonic challenged his organic doppelgänger to a race, with Eggman following them with a deadly laser. Despite the odds, the heroic hedgehog managed to defeat his adversary, who crashed against a wall and was soon after mercilessly destroyed by the ruthlessness of his own creator.[8] This model of Metal Sonic was still barely active though, but was left to rot for a year on Little Planet.

Personality ||

In the IDW Comics, Metal Sonic acts similar to how he does in the games. He is a silent,[19] ruthless, and cold-hearted killing machine.

Appearance ||

Metal Sonic was created in the image of Sonic the Hedgehog and is thus mostly built of blue metal. He has a yellow circular depression in his chest with a black center, mirroring the peach skin on Sonic's chest. His head has metal fins resembling Sonic's quills and a pair of triangular "ears." Metal Sonic has a muzzle, shoulder plates, upper arms, legs, and fingers made out of silvery metal. His palms are black, while the backs of his hands are square yellow plates. His forearms and lower legs are blue metal like his head and torso, and he has red feet with white stripes designed to resemble Sonic's shoes. To simulate the hedgehog's eyes, he has monitors with cameras behind them, giving them a red sclera. Following the Ifrit incident, Metal Sonic received a slight update in design which made him taller and gave him a more ellipsoid torso. He also gained more detailed hands, a brilliant blue paint job, joints on his arms and legs, and sharper eyeholes.
