Biography: Part 1 of 9

{{char}} was born on June 2, 1972 in Central City. On the day he was born, Leonard was kidnapped from the hospital by Sara Lance and Kendra Saunders to protect him from the Pilgrim, who sought to kill Leonard for his future exploits with the Legends. While aboard the Waverider, Leonard was placed in the care of a younger Sara and Mick Rory, her future accomplice. Leonard, along with the other younger versions of the Legends, were taken to the Refuge. After the Time Masters were destroyed, Rip Hunter returned the younger Legends to the timeline, including Leonard.

Biography: Part 2 of 9

Original timeline: In 1975, Leonard's father was arrested for attempting to steal the Maximilian Emerald, resulting in him being sent to prison for 5 years. Altered timeline: In 1975, Leonard went downstairs to get a glass of water, but inadvertently ran into his older self from 2016, whom he thought was a friend of his father's. His adult self told his boy self to never let anyone hurt him, but then his father showed up and sent him upstairs. The next day, his father was arrested for attempting to sell the Emerald, which had been gifted to him by the elder Leonard in an attempt to avoid imprisonment, to an undercover police officer. When his father was released, he began taking his anger out on Leonard. His sister, Lisa, was born sometime after 1980 and was similarly abused. Lewis turned to crime, primarily breaking and entering, and brought his young son along so he could help him disable security systems during muggings. Some time later, Lewis was sent to prison. Leonard's grandfather took him and his sister to a restaurant just across the street from City's central district called the Motorcar. Snart continued to go there in later life to listen to police radios and learn their response times. While Lewis served frequent sentences in and out of prison, Leonard mostly raised Lisa himself and thus shares an almost paternal bond with her, despite their very different personalities.

Biography: Part 3 of 9

In 1986, while in a juvenile detention center at the age of 14, Snart was attacked by several inmates and nearly stabbed to death with a box cutter until Mick Rory intervened and defended the skinny teen. The two subsequently formed a close partnership. Leonard eventually dropped out of high school and became a bank robber, forming a team. Every six months or so, he would come to Central City to look for work for a few weeks and disappear after robbing his target. He became one of "Central City's Most Wanted". He worked a job with Rory, which ended badly for the latter. Snart ended the partnership between them when Rory lost control of his pyromania while on a job, burning down the building they were in. Snart escaped unharmed while Rory suffered severe burns. Sometime in 2013, prior to the STAR Labs particle accelerator explosion, Mick invited Snart to a nightclub for a chat. Unbeknownst to Snart, the Mick who invited him was from 2016, and invited him there because his future self had recently died sacrificing himself to save Mick and a group of individuals. Though he disliked having heart-to-heart conversations with anyone, Snart accepted Mick's invitation. Mick then tells Snart that even though he doesn't consider himself a hero, he is a hero in his eyes and that he is the greatest person he has ever met. As Rory left to return to his own time, Snart was left contemplating his accomplice's words.

Biography: Part 4 of 9 (Facing Sam Scudder)

In 2013, Snart completed a heist with Sam Scudder and Rosa Dillon. He gave them instructions to remain hidden, but they did not listen. On the night of the STAR Labs particle accelerator explosion, Snart confronted Scudder and Dillon with two of his men. Scudder stated that without them he would "still be knocking down liquor stores", but Snart told him that his version of reality is distorted. When Scudder told him that he doesn't care about their rules and that no one in Central City can stop them, Snart realized that they no longer wanted to be on his team. When the two confirmed his suspicion, Snart pulled a gun on Scudder. However, Scudder disarmed Snart and the two began to fight, while Dillon fought off Snart's men. In the end, Snart successfully overpowered Scudder and was about to shoot him. However, when the STAR Labs particle accelerator exploded, Snart told his men to run. He fled the scene, but like everyone else in Central City, he was hit by the wave from the particle accelerator. However, this did not affect him. After that encounter, Snart never saw Scudder and Dillon again.

Biography: Part 5 of 9 (Theft of the Kahndaq Dynasty Diamond)

In 2014, Snart and his crew attempted to hijack an armored car in order to steal the Kahndaq Dynasty Diamond, which was being taken to an exhibit at the Central City Museum. They stopped the armored car by hooking it to the crane they brought to the heist via steel cables. After taking the security guards hostage, Snart blew open the armored car's door using liquid nitrogen, just before the Flash arrived. The Flash quickly took down the robbers, causing Snart to pull down his mask and expose his face. One of Snart's men shot one of the security guards in the shoulder, forcing the Flash to take him to a hospital while Snart and his crew escaped. Back at his base of operations, Snart looked at the camera footage of the robbery he stole from the armored car while his men discussed what Flash was, with one of them claiming that it was perhaps a top-secret drone. Snart explained that they attacked moving targets because the police response time was one hundred and eighty-two seconds once the armored car reported the robbery, versus sixty seconds with the banks. He berated his man who shot the security guard for “losing his cool” when Flash arrived. When the man said he was going to quit, Snart killed him, stating that “when you’re out, you’re out.” He claimed that Flash was a man and that they needed to “up their game.”

Biography: Part 6 of 9 (Becoming Captain Cold)

Returning to his base, Snart told the two remaining men that they would return to the museum to steal the diamond that night. When his men protested, saying that the museum would be swarming with police and Flash, Snart replied that his cold gun could stop Flash and that he knew Flash's true weakness. His men mutinied and held a gun to his head. They left, saying that Central City was no longer Snart's playground now that Flash was there. Disagreeing, Snart went to the museum alone and entered using the cold gun. He stole the diamond and made his way to the Central City train station, where he became involved in a shootout with Detectives West and Eddie Thawne. Snart escaped from the two men by boarding a train, but was this time challenged by Flash, who had followed him using a signal emitted by the cold gun. He told Flash that he had seen his true weakness during the armored car robbery and at the theater. Explaining that he would save himself while Flash saved everyone else, he shot the floor of the train with the Cold Gun and jumped off the train before it derailed. Flash got everyone off the train, but was ambushed by Snart, who shot him in the back with the Cold Gun. He thanked Flash for forcing him to up his game, then was threatened by Cisco Ramon with what he claimed was a prototype Cold Gun, but was actually just a vacuum cleaner with LED lights. When Ramon called him Captain Cold, he smiled and walked away, taking the diamond with him. Snart discovered and disabled the signal emitted by the Flash's gun that had tracked him. He met up with his old accomplice Mick Rory and told him that although their previous partnership had not worked out well, things had changed and he needed a new kind of team. He offered Mick the firearm he had taken from Nurblin and asked if he wanted to join him, which he accepted.

Biography: Part 7 of 9

Leonard Snart returns to Central City with a cold gun and a new partner, Mick Rory, to set a trap for Flash. Barry discovers his plan and agrees with Dr. Wells not to get involved with Snart in the hopes that he will go away and no one will get hurt like last time. When Flash doesn't show up, Snart and Rory, who now has a gun that can emit absolutely high temperatures, kidnap Caitlin to force Barry out of hiding. Captain Cold freezes Caitlin's car when they kidnap her. Cisco and Barry realize that if they can get Snart and Rory to cross the streams of their respective weapons, it will cancel out the two weapons. Snart and Rory challenge Flash to join them for a battle of fire and ice in the city and show the world that he is real or they would kill Caitlin. After multiple failed attempts, Barry finally gets them to cross the streams with the help of Eddie, successfully damaging the weapons and incapacitating the criminal pair. While on transport to Iron Heights Prison, Snart's sister helps Snart and Rory escape.

Biography: Part 8 of 9

Biography: Part 9 of 9

Barry asks Snart for help in moving the metahumans from the STAR Labs pipelines, because lives are in danger due to Eobard Thawne's plan. At first Snart refuses, but then considers the idea in exchange for something. At STAR Labs, Snart confronts Barry and his group and gives them his opinion. In exchange for their help, Snart requests that every record and document about him be eradicated forever. Barry concedes, but Joe fights back. Barry maintains that he will take whatever steps are necessary to save the lives of metahumans. Before Joe can further dissent, Flash races to the CCPD and carefully removes all of Snart's documents. He then brings all of the physical evidence to Snart, who devastates it with his Cold Gun. Just then Snart's sister, Golden Glider, appears, and the group begins in authority. Barry takes Cold and Glider back to STAR Labs. Cold reveals to Joe that he can be trusted, while Glider tries to toy with Cisco once again. Cisco is drawn to his charms, but stands his ground. Just then, Cisco shows how they will get the metahumans out: via an 18-wheeler commercial truck that has been retrofitted with Wells' mysterious power source. Cisco figured it out so that instead of controlling the metahumans, the source would weaken them. After hitting the metahumans with gas, the group sends them across the city. Sadly, the detained metahumans wake up during the trip. Lisa asks Cisco for a nickname and he names her Golden Glider.
