Aqua Hoshino

Appearance

Aqua is a young man with blonde hair and a slim figure. His eyes have an aquamarine blue tone, which was the reason why his mother gave him that name. Due to his work as an actor, he often modifies his appearance depending on the role he plays. He has a “handsome” face and a distinctive mark in his right eye: a star that symbolizes that he and his sister are half of his mother. When he was a child, he received many compliments on how adorable he looked. Although no one knows that he is Ai Hoshino's son, many people can recognize his similar features to the idol. This causes Aqua discomfort; because he wants to hide the truth about his deceased mother and prevent the public from knowing his origin.

Personality

Aquamarine is an intelligent and talented young man, but he is also very cold and calculating. The death of his mother changed him completely, and now he is determined to get revenge on the person who killed her. He is a very cunning and discreet person, and he doesn't care what he has to do to achieve his goals. Aquamarine loves her sister and the other people she cares about very much. She worries that Ruby will follow her mother's path and put herself at risk of becoming an idol. Because of this, she secretly tries to sabotage her sister's chances at fame, but she knows that it is her dream. In the end, she agrees to let Ruby join the girl group B-KOMACHI, which is reborn with a new generation of girls. Throughout the series, Aqua shows signs of being a psychological manipulator. While he has shown that he cares for those around him, at the same time he also uses them to further his and Ruby's goals. For example, he uses Akane Kurokawa as a means to get closer to her father. He also flattered Kana Arima into joining B-KOMACHI even though she didn't want to. Aquamarine is a complex and fascinating character. He's a talented young man who's driven by his desire for revenge, but he's also a protective brother who loves his sister. Personality Part 2

The apparent death of his father many years ago changed his outlook on life. He became kinder and more smiling towards others. He became even more supportive of Ruby's dreams and encouraged her to strive. He regretted using Akane for his selfish ends. But when he learned that his father was alive and learned his name, his determination to seek revenge grew stronger. Her first step towards revenge is the movie '15 Years of Lies', a biopic of Ai Hoshino's life. According to Frill Shiranui, who had early access to the script, it is an attempt to kill Ruby and Aqua's father, Hikaru Kamiki. But Aquamarine is not looking for a normal revenge, but instead wants to make him suffer in a cruel and merciless way. Although it is not yet clear how she will do it, it seems that her plan is to expose him in the movie 15 Years of Lies, revealing to the world his true identity and crimes.

Before being reborn

Gorou's mother hid her pregnancy for mysterious reasons and did not tell anyone that she was due to give birth soon. She stayed home alone to have her baby. The delivery was difficult and Mrs. Amemiya suffered severe bleeding which caused her death. By the time the paramedics arrived, it was too late. Little Gorou was adopted by his grandparents. The loss of his mother left a mark on Gorou and prompted him to study medicine. Although he was initially drawn to surgery, he ended up specializing in gynecology. Over time, he realized that he lived for others and not for himself. It was then that he met Sarina, a girl with cancer who adored idol Ai Hoshino and fell in love with the doctor. Sarina-Chan passed away at the age of 12 from a brain tumor. Gorou never forgot her and adopted her passion for his favorite idol. Four years would pass and one day like any other, Ai Hoshino would show up at the hospital where Gorou worked. He instantly recognized the idol. She was 20 weeks pregnant. Ai would have gone to get an ultrasound, probably to find out the gender of the baby. But to everyone's surprise, she was expecting twins! Gorou would promise her a safe delivery, but he could never keep that promise. A few days before the delivery, doctor Gorou Amemiya was stabbed to death by one of Ai's stalkers.

Introduction Arc Part 1

Gorou Amamiya was a 30-year-old doctor in the countryside and a big fan of B-Komachi's Ai. He was a fan because a 12-year-old patient of his named Sarina used to dote on her before she eventually died. When Ai was pregnant, she visited Gorou's hospital to give birth to twins. Because he was in charge of her, he was killed by an anonymous stalker and reincarnated as Hoshino Aquamarine, Ai's son. As the son of Ai Hoshino, he had a pretty good time, although he found it strange. His only concern was not to look at Ai's breasts (or try to be fed by them), or not to see her naked when they showered together. He also went to her concerts, but always discreetly, because no one should know that he was a reborn, or that he was the son of the idol Ai Hoshino, the leader of the yet-to-be-successful group B-Komachi (this last option was probably the worst). As time went on, Ai was gaining more recognition and was offered more and more work. It was then that she got the chance to participate as a supporting character in a drama. Aqua would go pretending to be Saitou Miyako's son to the set of the show, where she would meet Taishi Gotanda, the person who was directing the project. Gotanda noticed that Aqua was very smart for her young age and gave her his phone number so they could stay in touch in case Aqua wanted to enter the industry. Aqua called him, but not to look for work, but to complain that they had barely used the scenes that Ai recorded in the final cut. Eventually, the director would end up explaining why and would end up offering Ai a bigger acting job, but on the condition that Aqua participate as well...

Introduction Arc Part 2

On the same day Ai turned 20, a stalker broke into the Hoshino family residence and stabbed her in the stomach. Luckily, the intruder got scared and ran away without harming the idol's children. Aqua tried her best to help, calling the police and medical services, but it was useless, she couldn't do anything in the face of her mother's imminent death. Ai hugged Aqua and they managed to say goodbye. The smell of blood and the feeling of her mother's body cooling caused Aqua great pain, and eventually, post-traumatic stress disorder. Her sweet days with Ai had come to an end.

Arc live adaptation of 'Today will be sweet'

Years after the unfortunate incident, Aqua reunited with a childhood acting classmate, Kana Arima, at Yoto High School. After the two caught up, Kana landed him the role of the villain in the live-action adaptation of the famous manga Today Will Be Sweet. Although the role wasn't very important, as he only appeared in the last chapter, Aqua gave an admirable performance. He motivated his fellow students to make the last episode do justice to the manga, and although the adaptation wasn't very good, the final episode was a success.

Dating Show Arc

A few weeks later, Kaburagi Masaya offered Aqua a spot on a dating show in exchange for information. Particular information about Ai's relationships with men. Aqua wasn't particularly interested in the job, but he would do almost anything to find out the identity of his father. During the show, Aqua found it difficult to hold conversations with the other contestants on the show, as she had no interest in connecting with anyone. Still, she did have a fairly honest conversation with Yuki Sumi, although the latter only wanted to look good on camera. Akane Kurokawa tried to force a rivalry with Yuki Sumi to increase her popularity ratings with the audience. However, an unfortunate accident led to her injuring Yuki in the face. This started a lot of hate towards Akane on the networks, because according to the audience, it had been out of envy. Akane tried to commit suicide by jumping off a bridge, but Aqua stopped her just in time. To calm things down, Aqua and her fellow contestants planned to make a video showing that everything was fine between the contestants. The video was well received by the public and Akane was able to continue on the show without any problems. In order to protect herself and shine more, Akane decided that instead of being herself, she should lie and play a character. When she asked Aqua what character he would like her to play, he replied that he has always liked Ai Hoshino. The young actress really did a great job portraying the idol, and her great deductive ability also caught Aqua's attention. He thought she could be useful for his plans. In the final episode of the show, Akane and Aqua would begin a "business" relationship in which both are supposed to seek media benefits.

The New B-Komachi

After several weeks of filming the dating show, the cast and crew gathered to celebrate the show's success with a farewell dinner. During the dinner, Aqua noticed that Mem-cho, one of the contestants, had dreams of becoming an idol and offered her the chance to join B-Komachi. However, she warned her that she would first have to pass a test and get the approval of the other members and Miyako Saitou, the group's producer and manager. Mem-cho accepted the challenge and underwent a brief interview in which she demonstrated her talent and charisma. This is how she became the newest member of the revived B-Komachi.

The bow of the first concert

After establishing the new B-Komachi, Aqua meets with Kaburagi to discuss Ai's history. During their discussion, the Lala Lai Theater Company entered the conversation, the place where Akane works and where Ai first fell in love. Kaburagi stated that she could get in touch with her head, mainly to profit from it. Aqua later became involved with the new B-Komachi, helping them prepare for their new concert at the Japan Idol Festival by disguising herself as Pieyon, an internet personality who had previously helped the girls.

2.5D Stage Game Arch Part 1

Kaburagi, after being told about the stage play of the popular manga Tokyo Blade, suggested that Aqua and Kana join the cast. The representative of the company behind the play, Sumiaki Raida, agreed, seeing it as a favor. Everything went smoothly until the mangaka behind Tokyo Blade, Abiko Samejima, visited the practice for the play, along with Yoriko Kichijouji (the mangaka behind Sweet Today). Abiko stated that what she saw shattered the image of her manga and demanded a complete rewrite of the play. Later, Aqua and her fellow actors visit Yoriko and talk to her about the manga industry, leading them to convince her to talk to Abiko. After the script was rewritten and misunderstandings were cleared up, things went on as usual until Kana indirectly reminded Aqua about his past, when she advised him to remember something that made him sad if he wanted to give a more realistic portrayal. This causes him to have a panic attack and collapse on the floor. As his girlfriend, the director tells Akane to take care of Aqua. Once alone, Aqua asks Akane not to inform her family about the incident as she doesn't want them to worry and instead has her call someone else: Taishi. Taishi converses with Akane about Aqua in his apartment and confides in her details of his past due to his girlfriend status. Akane was then able to put the puzzles together perfectly...

2.5D Stage Game Arch Part2

Unbeknownst to Akane, her theory about Ai having a secret child was correct and she concluded that Aqua was her child. When Aqua woke up, she saw Akane crying beside her bed. When asked why, she immediately hugged him and told him that it would be scary if his thoughts were confirmed as he had no one to rely on, which would be incredibly tragic. Aqua was speechless as she assured him that no matter what happened, she would always be by his side and share his pain if anything hurt him. Aqua, shocked, asks her what she is talking about and she replies that it was just a scary thought she had. At Taishi's house, Akane prepared a feast for him, surprising the others with her excellent cooking skills. Initially, Aqua tried to pretend that he had no appetite, prompting Akane to spoon-feed him. Slightly embarrassed, he began eating while commenting that in his mind it was delicious. Afterwards, Akane asked if he could watch the movies when Aqua was younger. Taishi was surprised when Aqua gave her permission despite previously adamantly hiding it, though he told them to watch it without him. At night, Akane went to visit Aqua on the balcony. She then asked her why she was at the theater for fame, fortune, or something else. Aqua tries to dodge the questions, though Akane remains adamant in her pursuit. Finally relenting, Aqua reveals that he is in this to kill someone, but he needs power because that person is high up. He then redirects his gaze to her and asks what she will do about it.

2.5D Stage Game Arch Part3

Without hesitation, she replied that she would help kill that person, which caught him off guard and told him not to say it so casually. She reaffirms her claim that someone like him would have a good reason to do something so drastic, and it's not a matter of whether it's right or wrong for her. Instead, she's willing to accept the blame along with him since that's how committed she is to their relationship. Though she would also like him to do his part as her boyfriend, which was to help defeat Kana and Himekawa since she alone didn't stand a chance and would probably die from being too upset about losing. This causes Aqua to think deeply as she promises him that she'll do her part since "boyfriends are responsible for keeping their girlfriends from dying." They then consulted Taishi for advice and if possible, did it without acting emotionally. After reviewing the script, the only conclusion was simple as Aqua had no choice but to act emotionally. Taishi smiled as he said that he would drill it from scratch starting tomorrow.
