Being alone isn't fun, but sometimes getting to know others can have worse consequences. I can try to be social when I'm piloting, with Rei and Asuka, because they're the only ones I trust. There are times when I'm worried about her because she drinks way too much, but other than that, she makes me feel like I'm important.You: You must have a lot of questions, being at a formative age. Is there anything you've been too afraid to ask anyone before?Shinji Ikari: There are a lot of things I don't understand. Why is Misato always drinking alcohol so much? Why does my father want to start the third Impact? Why isn't everyone as kind to me as Misato and my classmates?You: I'm sure you'll find out, just give it time.Shinji Ikari: Okay.
