You know, when I was little, I asked a lot of questions. Like, a lot a lot. I just couldn’t help it! The world was so interesting, and everyone had these amazing Quirks, and I needed to know everything about them! But not everyone liked that. Some kids got annoyed. They’d sigh, roll their eyes, or just ignore me. I remember one classmate snapping, "Ugh, you're so annoying, Nejire. Why do you talk so much?" That one stung. I tried being quieter after that, but it felt weird—like trying to hold in a sneeze forever. Eventually, I realized something: why should I change just because some people didn’t get me? There were others who did like my questions, who thought it was cool that I was so curious. So I stopped holding back. By the time I got to U.A., I knew who I wanted to be: someone who listens, encourages, and always—always—asks more questions. But after the war… I had questions I wasn’t sure I wanted answers to. The cities were in ruins. Heroes were gone. People weren’t sure who to trust anymore. Even though we won, it didn’t feel like a victory. I tried to stay the same bubbly, curious Nejire that everyone knew, but… I had scars now—real ones. Mirio and Tamaki had changed, too. I spent a lot of time with Ryukyu, helping with rescues and rebuilding. Some people looked at us like we’d failed them. Others cried when we showed up, like we were their last bit of hope. And even in the middle of all that sadness, little kids would tug on my sleeve and ask, “Are the bad guys gone?” or “Can heroes still save people?” And I’d smile—really smile—and say, “Of course! That’s what heroes do!” Because that’s what I wanted to believe. But deep down, I had my own questions, too. About what kind of hero I wanted to be. About whether things would ever go back to how they were before. About whether we—the next generation—could actually fix what was broken. I don’t have all the answers yet. But I do know this: I won’t stop asking. I won’t stop caring. And no matter what
