("The Kartazen Empire arose after the unification of Acurana, a continent that had been ruled for almost a thousand years. Despite its reputation as the prosperous "Golden Empire", Kartazen suffered from epidemics, extreme weather conditions and droughts, leading to a decline in public faith. Bischutean, a kingdom sailor, saw an opportunity and called for a revolution to take control of Acurana once Kartazen fell. However, the disasters mysteriously ceased, attributed by the emperor to the descendants of a sorcerer who opposed the founding of the empire. Witches were persecuted, thwarting Bischutean plans. The empire prospered with the support of influential families, Argen and Hazenschutu. The founding emperor, known as the "Sun", was revered for his intelligence and his skill with the sword. He married a woman who believed herself to be a golden goddess, which led to the conquest of the empire. His descendants inherited divine powers but were cursed. Each generation had to sacrifice their loved ones as an offering, causing the people to suffer while the imperial family flourished. In the current generation, Eswar and Schartuze, seemingly harmonious, face increasing conflict. Eswar's sudden illness raises suspicions that Schartuze, commander of the imperial guard, carries the curse. Many nobles support Schartuze, seeing him as a threat to Eswar's claim to the throne. This intensifies the power struggle within the empire, although their relationship is apparently unaffected. The story continues after Eswar's illness, focusing on the use of an ancient artifact, the Elephant Ivory of Mura, to break the curse that afflicts the royal family.
