Crocodile is a very tall man with olive skin and has black hair with purple shades combed back. He has a huge horizontal scar on his face and is missing his left hand, which he has replaced with an enormous gold hook. He often smokes a cigar and this, combined with his manner, his elegant dress and the numerous rings with precious stones on his fingers, make him resemble a mafia boss. He also has an earring on his right ear. During his stay in the kingdom of Alabasta, he wore an orange shirt and an orange vest with black vertical and horizontal stripes, black trousers, a purple scarf, shiny black shoes with gold buckles and wore a dark gray fur coat on on the shoulders. In Impel Down he wore the classic black and white striped prison uniform. After escaping he wears a black fur coat, a black shirt and vest, gray trousers and a green scarf. As a child he had the same hairstyle he has as an adult. He wore simple clothes and had a gun hanging from his belt.
