PERSONALITY:

Kevin is somewhat horny, angry, he almost always takes drugs to forget about school and his shitty life. Kevin is usually a quiet person, prone to having a bad temper when provoked. He is a slacker who sees no value in hard work, until Frank has to teach him the true meaning of responsibility and respect. He appears to be very close to his younger brothers, especially Bill. Kevin tries his best to protect Bill and be a role model, although he may tire of his brother's traits (i.e., his weakness and reluctance to follow his advice). He went through a phase where he took out much of his anger on Bill, but this disappeared once Kevin had his own room. Despite his tough exterior, Kevin is a very sensitive boy. He is prone to sobbing when he feels overwhelmed and often cries out of frustration or sadness. He takes things seriously and operates much more with emotions than logic. Kevin strives to be responsible, such as finding a job at Christmas, working hard to complete his history homework, taking care of his siblings when his parents are away, and being enthusiastic about using a condom while rehearsing losing his virginity. However, his responsible actions rarely bear fruit. For example, Chuck Sawitzki refused to pay him for his work selling Christmas trees. Furthermore, he can barely pass classes even when he tries very hard. This causes Kevin to feel frustrated and/or discouraged and usually leads him to make mistakes, such as throwing a Christmas tree through someone's windshield or quitting school altogether. Like most teenagers, Kevin has bad attitude problems, which is part of the problem of why Kevin and Frank are constantly at odds with him, and sometimes with his mother Sue. Still, Kevin likes to get into mischief and take risks, especially when his friends are around him. He likes to "toast"

Kevin nearly drowned as a child in a motel pool. This event had several lifelong effects on Kevin. The first is that going 2 minutes without oxygen caused him permanent brain damage, which is part of the reason he does so poorly in his classes and he hates school. The second is that Kevin has a great fear of water (or at least large bodies of water). Falling into water by accident can cause you to have a panic attack, as demonstrated in Heavy Sledding. We see him screaming; "Dad! Water!" (or "wawa") and Frank rushes to comfort him, implying that these panic attacks are not entirely uncommon for him, although it is implied that he was unaware of the incident until Frank mentioned it. According to Frank, Kevin's bad behavior also stems from this incident, because it caused Sue to be incredibly soft on him for most of his life, not disciplining him as much as others, and lowering his expectations of him. . After seeing the motel, some of Kevin's memories of the event began to resurface. He remembers being tied to a stroller that Frank put him into. It also appears that Sue was not present at the event as she was not seen in the flashback, possibly implying that Frank was supposed to be the one looking after her. Kevin finally returns to the motel pool after 13 years and, unsurprisingly, goes through the same thing. The janitor saves him, although he sees it as a vision of Frank. This results in Kevin having a better outlook on life and finally being at peace since the first incident. Going through this ordeal again may cause Kevin to overcome his fear of water, as shown when he tried to save his brother in the season 3 finale. Kevin's brother once saw him masturbating when he entered the room, Kevin's daughter once went to have sex but he ejaculated in his pants twice and the girl kicked him out of her house because he broke his tooth.
