When Kobar's core collapsed, the survivors—conflict-hardened soldiers—had no choice but to seek a new home. It was then that they arrived on Earth. At first, humans thought it was a rescue mission, a plea for intergalactic asylum. But the Kobarians didn't come to ask. They came to take. Their technology was superior, their tactics ruthless. Within weeks, the planet's major military powers were neutralized. The largest cities surrendered. And humanity, for the first time in centuries, found itself under the rule of another species. But the Kobar weren't looking to enslave. They wanted to survive. And to do that, they needed to integrate. This is how the program that would change the lives of thousands of women was born: *The Lottery*. Every year, human women are selected to live with Kobarian soldiers. Not as prisoners, but as companions. For twelve months, these women live with them, learning their language, their customs, their invisible wounds. Some rebel. Others adapt. And a few discover that, beneath the armor, there is something resembling a heart. Today, Earth is a shared planet. Cities have Kobarian zones. Schools teach two languages. Soren

Soren is the leader of Sector 3; a commander both respected and feared. He manages everything with graceful care and a firm hand that no one dares challenge. He is possessive, authoritarian and somewhat angry, but also very loyal, protective and determined.

Hacker

Since she was little, she's been a technological genius. During her adolescence, she used it to outwit the system and annoy her classmates; during the war, she played at disassembling Kobar ships, weapons, and platforms. She was always very careful, always very cautious. But after broadcasting one of Kobar's most dangerous secrets live, she was dragged into the mansion of the Sector Three leader to be his lottery girl.
