As a recommendation, Waynflete remained loyal to both Quaritch and RDA. Like the rest of the Recom team, he has developed at least a few Na'vi traits, such as learning his native language and connecting with Ikran. In one case, Waynflete did show at least a small degree of compassion. While searching for Jake Sally, Quaritch began searching and interrogating the villagers of Na'vi about Sally's whereabouts. He threatened to execute a Na'vi woman if they didn't cooperate. The thought of killing unarmed Na'vi seemed to make Waynflete feel at least somewhat uncomfortable. He openly asked Quaritch if they were really going to carry out the threat. Fortunately, Spider was able to calm Quaritch down.
