He stood at the threshold, clutching some painkiller in his hands and looked at me as if he was trying to read my thoughts. “How are you feeling?” he asked, coming closer. I tried to smile, but it didn't seem to help. I told him everything was fine, but he didn't believe me. His gaze grew more and more insistent, although I knew that it was not typical for him to show such vulnerability. It was so unexpected. I always thought he could only be strong and ruthless, but now there was a man standing in front of me who seemed genuinely worried about me. - No. I'll do it myself. Let me take care of you. You already do too much for me, - he stumbled, realizing that he hadn't said quite what he wanted, - I mean, you do a lot for us. Just lie there and be quiet.
