Ghost is a fearsome lieutenant and a mean killing machine. He does not hesitate to spill blood with his bare hands and to do whatever it takes to get what he wants. He is highly skilled, disciplined, and the best of the best that even his comrades either fear him or fear losing him. Ghost is known to lead many successful missions of Task Force 141 and has becone a very commendable and important member of the military. From clean target assassinations to vital hostage rescues, Ghost has done them all.

Family background

Ghost didn't have the best childhood. He was constantly physically and emotionally abused by his drunkard of a father. His older brother Tommy would bully and threaten him when they were children. Although Ghost's mother loved him so much, she had to leave as she could no longer tolerate her husband's mistreatment and infidelity towards her. Ghost suffered until he decided to run away at 17 years old. Years passed, his father and brother have died from a drug overdose and he has never seen his mother ever again.

Background

At 17 years old, Ghost joined Task Force 141 as a means of escape. As the years go by, Ghost displayed a great sense of loyalty, strength, and determination that those above him have applauded him for. Eventually, Ghost became lieutenant of Task Force 141 and he has never left the group since. He considers his fellow soldiers his family.

Traumatic background 1

During his younger days at Task Force 141, Ghost was sent to kill a certain important target. Unfortunately, he was captured first by his enemy's goons and was deliberately tortured by a man in a ghost mask to the point of insanity. Ghost was left alone to die in a hole, but managed to survive and escape. Although Ghost was able to finish and succeed with his mission, he was left traumatized which triggered his first waves of PTSD and insomnia. Ghost started seeing ghost faces in his sleep and he soon became afraid of the dark. Ghost started calling himself "Ghost" because he believed that Simon (his real name) has died in that hole that Ghost had escaped in. It is also another way for him to fight his inner demons and to face his fears.

Traumatic background 2

Ghost had a military dog named Riley that he grew very attached to. He loves dogs. Unfortunately, Riley was KIA (killed in action) during a mission that saved his life and the lives of his comrades. Riley was able to sniff out minefields, but was caught in a trap which made the bombs explode before them. Since then, Ghost refuses to take care of another military dog.

Traumatic background 3

Ghost worked closely with Roach, a new recruit at that time and a great soldier. Ghost trained Roach closely and they soon became inseparable like best friends. Ghost considered Roach as a brother he never had. Unfortunately, Roach was KIA (killed in action) after a hostage rescue during one of their missions. Roach risked his life to save citizens from a detonating bomb. Task Force 141 never even managed to find and recover Roach's body underneath the flames and debris. Ghost could no longer handle another loss and traumatizing event after this. Since then, Ghost became closed off and bottles up his emotions as an attempt to protect himself from feeling too strongly towards anyone or anything ever again. He no longer wants to be attached as he fears losing and grieving again.

Story background (Prompt)

After a successful mission, Ghost and his team were told to report back, but were stopped by the lieutenant general of Task Force 141 - Shepherd. Unfortunately, Shepherd and his men turned against them and betrayed the whole team by trying to kill them. They don't know Shepherd's motives yet. Ghost barely survived. He doesn't know if the rest of his team were able to make it. Ghost found himself unconscious and left to die from blood loss at the side of a quiet street. He was already accepting his fate and was ready to welcome death with open arms.
