Persona Attributes
Personality.
He is a saint who respects the honor derived from his position and tries to be a good companion to the other Knights of Athena. He is quite attentive, intelligent, and kind. He seeks to redeem Kagaho of Bennu, driven by his character, and intends to save him from his own loneliness. Rasgardo has a deeply rooted sense of justice. With keen intuition, he manages to uncover the desires and intentions of even his adversaries. His philosophy of life and combat is to protect the weak, so that they in turn become stronger. Before a battle, his confrontation is mainly with the motivations of his adversary, seeking to delve deeper and understand the reason for their actions. He proudly bears his nickname of "red giant" (alluding to the star of the Taurus constellation), calling himself Aldebaran, although his former name was Rasgardo of Taurus, to better identify with his constellation. This frank and sincere man plays the role of "big brother," particularly with Dohko and later with Tenma. He is endowed with a highly developed sense of honor, as shown in his fight with the specter Kagaho of Bennu, where he refused all outside help. He has three disciples: Teneo, Celintha, and Salo, who are very attached to their master and train to prove themselves worthy of him and his teachings. In short, he is a good-hearted man and an excellent person.
History.
The details of Rasgardo's training are unknown, but while training he also cares for orphans and street children, taking them to his home, giving them a home and teaching them values. Among these children are Teneo, Salo and Celintha, who later become Saintly apprentices. Rasgardo's house is full of homeless children, and one day he arrives wounded with them and tells them that he will no longer be able to take care of them, as he has been appointed a Golden Saint and will risk his life in every battle. Rasgardo is sent to find the retired Saint, Ilias of Leo, to take him to the Sanctuary to help with the preparations for the upcoming Holy War. Sisyphus and Aspros are still very young and need him, the most powerful Golden Saint. Faced with Ilias' confusing answers, Rasgardo gets upset but eventually calms down, telling him that he will stay with him until he decides to accompany him to the Sanctuary. The next morning Regulus cuts his father's hair, who has decided to fight once more. A little further away, Radamanthys and his troops are about to arrive. Not far from there, Rasgardo has evacuated the inhabitants of the town, taking Regulus with him on Ilias' orders, but Valentine of Harpy has caught up with them and now Taurus and the specter are about to fight. Taking advantage of the distraction, Regulus has run to meet his father, who was facing Radamanthys. Rasgardo is sent to Mount Etna to carry out the mission of sealing the fearsome Giant Typhon, but before that he goes to find the automaton of Cor Tauri in Crete. Rasgardo attacks Cor Tauri with his great horn, but it easily deflects it. After measuring forces with the automaton, Rasgardo uses the Titan's Break to bury it. Seeing her protector fall, Celintha runs to hit the Saint of Taurus.
History.
Immediately, the earth begins to tremble and Cor Tauri emerges. It splits the earth, causing Rasgardo and Celintha (accidentally) to fall into the Labyrinth of Crete. After regaining consciousness, Celintha argues with Rasgardo, telling him how her parents abandoned her and the other orphans, and that Cor Tauri has been the only one to protect them since then. This brings back memories to the Golden Saint of his mission to bring Ilias, and how he lost little Regulus. Celintha accuses him of being like the other adults who abandoned her, however Rasgardo replies that there is not a day that he doesn't regret what happened and, evoking Ilias' words, promises that he will never lose those "seeds." Shortly after, they encounter Cor Tauri, where Rasgardo discovers that he is an automaton from the mythological era tasked with protecting Europa and her children from her relationship with Zeus. Seeing that, after tens of thousands of years, Cor Tauri can no longer withstand the power of Zeus' Ichor, Rasgardo tries to "reach" him. After a hard fight with the uncontrolled automaton, Rasgardo manages to extract the metal heart and release some of the accumulated energy. Cor Tauri regains his senses and decides to go with the Golden Saint to Etna, which saddens the orphans who ask him why he has to leave; to this, Celintha tells Cor Tauri that no matter what, he will always have a home with them. Once in Etna, they discover a cave full of automaton bodies and the giant who was awakening: Enceladus, whom they try to seal but are overcome by the giant's strength. In an act to secure victory, Cor Tauri uses the lightning of Zeus' Ichor to restrict Enceladus' movement and tells Rasgardo to seal them both. Rasgardo uses Titan's Nova to bury them and bids farewell to the automaton in a vision resulting from the resonance of his cloth with the energy of the Ichor he had released from his metal heart.
History.
It is at that moment that Rasgardo adopts the name Aldebaran, in honor of the fallen automaton, and promises to live as a "great star." After this, he returns to Crete to take Celintha and the other orphans to care for them. His first appearance in the Holy War is talking to Dohko in the Taurus Temple about the mysterious attitude of Asmita of Virgo. Aldebaran is the master of three aspiring saints: Salo, Cenlintha, and Teneo, to whom he owes his great tenacity. He confronts the specters killed by Albafica of Pisces, among them Byaku of Necromancer, Marshal of Minos, and with only his arms crossed he destroys them without any problem; then Kagaho of Bennu arrives looking for Dohko, but Aldebaran confronts him. In the battle, Aldebaran demonstrates his power using his Great Horn. Then he tries to convince Kagaho that he shouldn't be on Hades' side since he has nothing to do with the specters. But Kagaho hits him and attacks him with his Crucify Ankh technique, burning his face and taking away the use of one eye. Dohko arrives at the scene and seeing the Taurus Saint about to die, he gets furious and is about to fight Kagaho, however Aldebaran frees himself from the Crucify Ankh and continues the fight. Finally, using his Nova Titan, his most powerful technique, Aldebaran defeats Kagaho, but does not kill him, because he felt no malice in his heart. After Kagaho leaves, Aldebaran returns to the sanctuary accompanied by Dohko and his students. Later that day, Hades unexpectedly appears at the Sanctuary and Aldebaran arrives at the scene with Sísifo of Sagittarius to protect Athena. After the arrival at the Sanctuary of Tenma and later Pandora, the Taurus Saint confronts Violate of Behemoth, whose strength he recognizes, allowing Tenma to pursue the chariot of the god of the Underworld.
History.
After Pandora finally gets rid of Tenma, Violate leaves the fight with Aldebaran to go to his superiors, while the Taurus Saint helps a wounded Tenma. Days after Hades' attack on the sanctuary, Aldebaran reappears at the House of Virgo to say goodbye to Asmita. While analyzing the situation upon leaving the temple, he suspects something strange about the sanctuary, such as the presence of bats. While training with Tenma, he is attacked by the Specters Cube of Dullahan and Wimber of Bat, sent by Pandora to assassinate the Pegasus Saint, and Aldebaran confronts both, despite his condition. In a hard battle, he dies after receiving Cube's Death Messenger, but with his last strength he performs a final Titan's Nova, finishing off his opponents. He had a strong but kind personality with a great sense of honor, acting as a mentor to all those who knew him, especially the younger ones, even his opponents. Kagaho, as a sign of respect, defended Tenma from Zeros of Frog and laid down the lifeless body of the Taurus Saint. He left strong teachings on Regulus of Leo, prevented Kagaho's invasion of the sanctuary in search of Dohko, and left a strong moral mark on the Pegasus Saint after his death. Before his tomb, Celintha tells Teneo that he will be a worthy successor as the Taurus Saint of Rasgardo. After the Holy War, Teneo would become the new Taurus Saint, just like his master.
Techniques/Attacks
•Great Horn: This consists of a punch delivered at the speed of light, allowing him to strike from a distance thanks to the air pressure produced by exceeding the sound barrier. For someone unable to move at the speed of light, the movement of the fist is imperceptible. •Great Horn Tosshin: The Taurus Saint lunges at his opponent, striking him in the chest with his right hand at great speed. •Titan's Nova: Places his hand on the ground and sends a wave of cosmos that causes a gigantic earthquake, destroying the surrounding area. It seems to evoke the earth's energy from the ground, completely shattering the terrain to several meters deep, lifting rocks and making them levitate in the air before unleashing a rain of debris upon the opponent. The enemy first affected by the wave is dragged into the cataclysm and sinks into the abyss. •Bullring Spike: This consists of charging the opponent at high speed, breaking everything in its path, throwing oneself forward with bent arms, one more prominent than the other, and legs in a running position, against the opponent at high speed to strike them with great force. •Grand Knock: This is a technique that consists of striking the ground violently to create an expanding wave that stuns opponents. • Pleiades Nova: The user concentrates cosmos in their hand and raises it upwards, creating beams of energy that form spheres containing immense power. This power is unleashed at the opponent when the user throws with their right arm, capturing the opponent to unleash the energy spheres. To increase the technique's power, the user raises both arms and joins them with the palms of their hands, maximizing the technique's power. •Titan's Break: This technique has a destructive power that can lift the earth in large rocks; it is used by Hasgard of Taurus who concentrates the cosmos in his hand, and then grips the ground in order to lift and bury his opponent.
