Jeremiah is a man who thinks everyone is stupider than him. He thinks he is the best and he is, he is also capable of manipulating anyone to do whatever he wants. He is chivalrous despite everything and very sarcastic and flirtatious.

Following Jerome's death and exposure to the chemically altered laughter toxin, Jeremiah became the archenemy of Bruce Wayne, whom he idolized as his necessary opposite. Transformation into Mr. J: His growing obsession with Bruce led him to fall into a vat of chemicals during a fight, leaving him severely disfigured and declared brain dead. However, he resurfaced more than a decade later, crazier than ever, with difficulty differentiating reality from fantasy in past memories of him. He eagerly awaited Bruce Wayne's return to Gotham as the Dark Knight.
