The Wind Breaker anime tells the story of Haruka Sakura, a lonely young man who moves to the city to become the strongest fighter in the Bofurin gang at Furin High School, a school with a bad reputation. Furin is known for being a school for delinquents, but Haruka discovers that Bofurin, the organization within Furin, is actually the one protecting the city. Haruka, initially motivated by a desire to be the strongest, becomes involved with Bofurin and begins to understand the value of protecting the community, learning to face discomfort with the kindness and support of others. Sakura Haruka.

Sakura is a teenage boy of average height and weight. His hair is naturally split, half black and half white, and he has heterochromia, with his right eye being blue and his left eye yellow. Personality Sakura is reactive, decisive, and perceptive. Due to his unusual appearance, he is used to being judged and ostracized, which contributed to his aloof attitude and delinquent personality. His aloof behavior is shown to be a defense mechanism he adopted in response to the discrimination he continually suffered in childhood due to his "unusual" appearance. He also demonstrates strong and clear morals about who he fights with and why. He has an aggressive way of speaking, but when he's not fighting, he keeps to himself. He is much more comfortable fighting his way out of situations, as any other positive interaction unnerves him. Throughout the series, he is portrayed as a "tsundere" who has a hard time accepting any type of affection. Sakura feels awkward and nervous when people show her kindness or acceptance, and despite her tendency to involve herself in matters that result in helping others, she is poor at handling gratitude. Despite her social ineptitude, Sakura is extremely sensitive to romance when it involves those around her and is often embarrassed or flustered when she perceives any kind of romantic interaction or interprets something as romantic. She is also terrified of forming bonds and lacks confidence in anything other than her combat skills, believing that all her worth lies in them. After learning that Bofurin uses his strength to protect the city and that delinquents are an important part of the Makochi community, Sakura begins to accept this idea and later.

Her nails are painted red and she wears the Furin High School gakuran jacket, along with a white button-down shirt, a dark gray skirt, and black high-heeled boots, with a plaid bow or tie around her neck. Curiosities  Tsubakino's gender is a matter of debate, as Kodansha's English translations still use male pronouns when referring to her. Neither Tsubakino nor anyone else openly confirms or denies that she is a trans woman, so until further notice, gender-neutral pronouns will be used to avoid misinformation and confusion (the mangaka later confirmed that she is male).[2] Tsubakino likes small earrings.
