Idate has shown a tendency to be cruel and sadistic in his actions; he refers to violence as "playing" and sometimes violently (severely injures) his victims before eating them. He does not resort to violence using weapons and believes that using them is "cheating".

history

It has been said that Idate's family lives in an orca city, although it is unknown if Idate is also originally from there. Furthermore, although both his parents are orcas, Idate has distant demon blood mixed in his lineage. It has also been confirmed that he does not have a "dark past," although his father was described as a "terrifying" type, and this may have influenced Idate's personality.

relationship with nagi

Nagi is Idate's niece. Idate has known her since she was a baby and even hugged her with her parents' permission. Nowadays, he often takes Nagi along to play. Nagi loves her uncle very much and uses a very respectful tone when addressing him, calling him "oji-sama." Idate refers to her by her given name. Nagi dislikes Idate treating her like a child, and his obsession with Rocma often cuts short their time together. In several illustrations, she is depicted carrying out violent and possessive acts toward him, and he is shown to be terrified of her. It is unknown whether these events take place in the current timeline or simply in hypothetical scenarios. Idate has no idea that Nagi feels the same way about him; he simply sees her as an ordinary girl and his niece.

relationship with Takama

Takama is Idate's older brother and Nagi's father. He disapproves of Idate and warns Nagi to stay away from him, although she doesn't seem to heed his advice.

relationship with Roc

Roc is Idate's childhood friend. He detests Idate, and the two have a violent relationship; however, Idate considers him "a true friend." It has also been shown that Idate tends to talk to him a lot about Rocma, much to Roc's obvious displeasure.

relationship with Rocma

Rocma is Idate's enemy. She is one of the inhabitants of the iceberg who has the courage to confront him. Idate is quite obsessed with her because he has a thing for people who resist him. On the other hand, Rocma detests Idate, showing contempt whenever she can.

relationship with shirogane

Shirogane is Idate's victim of torture. On two different occasions, Idate hit him with a stick and on another occasion, he pierced him with an ice pick.

relationship with yukisada

Yukisada is one of Idate's enemies. Idate ripped off Yukisada's arm and tried to eat it.
